Most points allowed in franchise history. Such a joke of a team.

    Something needs to change immediately.

Welcome to the world of Cardinal fans. Instead of projecting playoff match ups, you now get to track your draft position and likely draftee.

Bidwell's Blunders are up to 5th overall pick. This could be the year we finally get that premiere left tackle. Now if we can only get a line coach who can actually coach somebody up. If it takes firing Wisenhunt to get Russ Grimm out the door I'm good with that.

The top left tackles in the draft are: Matt Kalil (USC), Jonathan Martin (Stanford), D.J. Fluker [(Bama)may not declare] & Riley Reiff (Iowa)

Kalil and Martin have top five pick potential.
I wish I knew - Dennis "Cutty" Wise

When its game time, it's pain time! - Terrible Terry Tate

Colts fans over the age of 30 are very familiar with the situation.

And us over 50 wish Indy had got an expansion team in the first place.

Yikes... This was only the second Colts game I've been able to watch this season. I don't have much to say after that one.

I was a Baltimore Colts fan from my earliest memories back (about 1970), even had a cousin that played for them in the early 80's. Naturally I was elated when they moved to Indy but just my luck I had moved to Dallas, so it wasn't until 1986 I finally got to see the 'Indianapolis Colts'. The current Colts roster has far more talent than those teams in the 80's, but man the play last night resembled some of those teams. I remember once tallying-up how many quarterbacks wore a Colts jersey in the 80's & 90's alone and I think the number was over 20.

Caldwell will most likely be gone by seasons end, although I never thought he was a good candidate in the first place. The team is showing weaknesses in all area's. I fear the Colts will go through several coaches in the next few years and team will hover at mediocrity...at best.

That said, I predicted before the season started the Colts would finish 4-12. I'm beginning to think that was being overly optimistic.
My first Indy 500 was 1973, haven't missed one since 1981. To date I have attended 35 Indy 500's, and probably 100 or so other IndyCar races (CART & IRL).

IMO, Caldwell should not have gotten the job in the first place. And regardless of record I think he should be gone immediately following the season's end.

The Colts will need to be 0-16 to have a chance at Luck, after the way my Dolphins imploded and let Tebow (being cheered louder in Miami then the Dolphins) overcome a 15-0 deficit in the final 3 1/2 minutes they are toast. They have maybe 1 winnable game against Washington and I think the team will have quit after today so 0-16 is pretty likely.

    Is it May yet ?

Knowing the Colts organization, I'd be surprised if this were Caldwell's final season.

I'd say the chances of that happening are less than the chances of me growing another 3.5" to break the 6' barrier some time soon.

As I pointed out earlier in the thread, the chances of landing the first pick are iffy even at 0-16, and the chances of any team getting him to play for them at #1 make it even more uncertain.

The tiebreaker for draft picks is strength of schedule. Here's the latest update among the teams with 0 or 1 wins:

Team (wins): SOS for all 16 games
    AZ (1): .459
    JAX (1): .505
    IND (0): .539
    SL (0): .571
    MIA (0): .580
    MIN (1): .598

At least if the Rams "beat" the Colts, the Rams probably wouldn't want a QB. But it would be a steep price -- with a lot of a competition -- to trade up to #1.

  21. #51
The Colts wouldn't trade up to #1. I'm almost positive about that. They would need to aquire it the old fashioned way. Only 1 team in NFL history has ever gone 0-16. Only one team before that ever went 0-14. The odds of more than one 0-16 team in the same season are incredibly remote.

I'd be shocked if Caldwell survives a 62-7 franchise worst loss on national TV in a league built around parity (but then again if Caldwell is fired it would mean Bill Polian made a mistake which I don't think will happen). Even before this season, there has been clear evidence that Caldwell is not HC material in the NFL. It is frusterating as hell to see Colts keep the status quo and not do anything truly different....why not a fake punt, onside kick, BLITZ the f'ing QB, try press coverage, etc.??? Or is the Colts organization from Irsay all the way down to the coordinators to arrogant to admit that their current system IS based upon the play of one player?

The defensive is so awfully bad from a scheme and talent standpoint. There isn't one guy in the seconardy besides Bethea that would be a starter on a winning team right now.

I guess this team has always been a below average defense and terrible at special teams with Peyton Manning, but without #18 it is magnified 100 times over.

I also think it's unlikely the Colts would trade up to #1 -- partly because of the steep price I mentioned.

Multiple 0-16 teams is unlikely, but I wouldn't call it remote. The Colts have actually shown the most signs of life (outside weeks #1 and #7) compared to the Dolphins and especially the Rams. My point is that if the Colts finish 0-16 as a team that's not even the worst in the league, there's an equal chance that one of the teams worse than the Colts could finish 0-16.

It's tough for any team to enter a season thinking your best player is available, and then lose him. And then to lose so many key veterans on defense and offensive line makes your job that much tougher.

I'm not defending Caldwell, but he was dealt a crap hand this season.

Even when Manning was playing, key veterans were dropping like flies too and they still won.

I guess I'm just more frusterated with the fact that the Colts are apparently unwilling to try new things (i.e., desperate - because that's what they are now) to get a win...i.e., a fake punt, onside kick at half or blitz the QB.

This was the first home game all season that I've missed, and this is what the Saints put up? Well, I hope my cousin and her fiancé enjoyed the tickets, and it was his birthday.

    Because they had Manning.

And they didn't always win a ton of games. Remember last year they were only 10-6.

Three teams in the "Suck for Luck" derby.

Being a Texans fan, I have seen embarrassing games, so I feel for the Colt fans right now.
After years of fighting and a split, guess what, we are all IndyCar

October will always be a sad racing month for me. RIP Greg and Dan. You both were great and we miss you.
