Doesn't that just lend creedence to the earlier report that Manning is solely Irsay's decision? (I believe that's what I read.)

Absolutely. I would still expect him to be well versed and on the same page as Irsay, though. I haven't yet seen the press conference, so I really can't comment beyond that.

I guess so. Yeah. That could make sense.

Kinda makes me wonder if the decision hasn't been made.

[whitock]That's pretty funny, but in fairness to George, his decision process couldn't have been too bad. He ended up going #1/#1 in the draft after leading his team to the Top 10 national ranking. [/whitlock]

    More changes:

Offensive line coach Pete Metzelaars and wide receivers coach Frank Reich were let go Wednesday, a day after head coach Jim Caldwell was fired. RTV6's Sports Director Dave Furst reported that defensive backs coach Alan Williams is leaving the team to become defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings.

There are now some rumors on Twitter that manning is retiring. We'll see.

Rob Lowe, of all people, was the source of the rumor.

I'll wait for somebody more qualified to comment about it first, such as Betty White.

In other news, how pathetic of a news organization is current day ESPN? Do you really need to respond to a tweet sent by an aging Hollywood actor?

    In this article: http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/2839...g-rob-lowe.htm

"Peyton kind of likes his roots in Indy," Archie Manning, Peyton's father, told the New York Post. "We'll see what happens there. That'll all work out. He's just trying to get healthy."

To me that says Peyton is not healthy if he is trying to get healthy. So, the real answer is unclear yet.

The best comment I've seen on the Rob Lowe tweet:

"And Molly Ringwald announced that Kevin Bacon would be the Colts new Head Coach"

that would really open up 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon to a whole bunch of new plays.

I don't think that's ever been in dispute.

From Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt:

"The #Titans have granted the Colts permission to talk to defensive coordinator Jerry Gray about their head coaching job, sources say".

Colts absolutely cleaning house...all assistants including strength and conditioning coach have been fired.

Concerning Jerry Gray....I'm speculating that he is being interviewed to possibly comply with the Rooney Rule?

Okay, Metz and Reich were old news from yesterday. Hadn't heard about Teerlincks or Torine yet. Thanks.

    Is this really "all" assistants?

I think it is only a matter of time until the remaining assistants will be fired or taking jobs elsewhere.

Irsay has discussed the coaching position with Tony Dungy -- not necessarily to get Dungy on board, but at least for advice.

    Link

    More:

Dungy says he has talked to Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in the past couple months.

"He's planning on playing and he feels like he's going to be healthy. Time will tell."
Rob Lowe has not responded to Dungy's comments as of yet.
