Running Clauson on road courses would be a waste of money.....no offense, just no one would benefit from it.

I would argue that the aim of he program is not Bryan Clauson but for those who want to follow Bryan Clauson's footsteps. Even if Bryan gets on the road courses and get toasted I have no doubt Bryan well try to get better the year after. It takes time but more importantly it'll teach younger drivers that if you want to get to the Indycar Series you must prepare in more ways then just the dirt. The same goes for those who grew up karting but never had experience on ovals.
If Bryan can go on and do somewhat well then other drivers would want to follow mostly if the IICS keeps on supporting and sponsoring such drivers.

Ostella Joins Team Moore in Firestone Indy Lights Series

What's everyone's prediction for the 2012 Indy Lights Champ? I know it's still early, butjust curious what everyone thinks. I think of the confirmed so far Ostella with Moore and Vautier with SSM are solid. Of the unconfirmed, The Conor/Connor (Daly and De Philliipi), Nick Andries, Pigot could be threats depending on where they end up.
Spencer Pigot will be doing another season in USF2000 - perhaps you're thinking of someone else.
It's unclear where Daly will be racing next year as well. His recent GP3 tests have gone really well so he may just do a full season for a top team there.
I think a lot depends on who gets the final SSM seat and who gets the second Team Moore seat. Things on the Andretti side have been very quiet and I think it will depend a lot on who they get in that seat/seats and how much in the way of resources they put behind their Indy Lights operation. They clearly tried to run things in 2011 quite on the cheap and it showed, but they still managed some decent results. Belardi will probably be improved, but I hesitate to nominate any team that hasn't won a race yet a championship contender.
Yeah, I forgot that Pigot announced another season in F2000. Dempsey could be possible as a contender. Really curious to see how Juncos Racing does in their first season.
It depends on if things change in tech.
Any Americans in a full time ride yet?
Stefan Wilson will win it.

Indian talent Armaan Ebrahim has found his opportunity in the United States. He will join Firestone Indy Lights with team Fan Force United, piloting the team’s No. 24 JK Tyre Dallara.

What is so funny? I haven't heard much of anything about this guy, but his record isn't horrible. Made it to F2 for a few years, not the best results but don't know how good the team was. I will say this, when Tyce had Alliance, that was a team that could win on any given weekend. I would wait a few races before you dump on the kid.
Shelby Blackstock got a ride in one of AA's USF2000 cars. (He's Reba McEntire's kid)

So there, an American that want to race open wheel cars. Happy now?

To be truthful I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see any full time Americans in Indy Lights this year which to me (and this may sound strange) is a good thing. Many of the up and coming American drivers are taking another year either in Star Mazda or the F2000 Series to sharpen their skills which is a great thing. The last thing I want to see are immature drivers coming through the ladder into the Indycar Series which they should be in the first place.
If you want to see Americans I would wait for 2013 because that Indy Lights season could be stocked deep with them.
I agree. Tyce and his team will have him running up front.

Regarding 02 Racing Technology (Team) and Mark Olson (Owner)
INDYCAR and the Firestone Indy Lights Series released an announcement today revealing that O2 Racing Technology and team owner Mark Olson will be suspended from all INDYCAR-related activity until December 31, 2012.
The official move comes on the heels of a controversy stemming from what Olson called "integrity issues" regarding Firestone Indy Lights inspection protocols and procedures. The FILS teams of Sam Schmidt Motorsports were reported to have failed technical inspection following the Freedom 100 event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, the series later rescinded the penalties and overturned the decision to suspend the team, reinstating their results as of the Sukup 100 at the Milwaukee Mile.
On the heels of those actions and similar issues at Milwaukee during post-qualifying tech, Olson and O2RT publicly announced that they were withdrawing from the event and the balance of the FILS season, claiming that the lack of transparency and consistency compromised the integrity of the FILS championship.

The Indianapolis 500. Where Milk doesn't just taste like Milk. It tastes like Immortality.
It is. I rather have Americans that are winners in the Road to Indy then have their butts handed to them in Lights and come to Indycar unprepared and as 2nd place losers. The reason why JR and guys like Newgarden are great is the fact that they had TONS of experience before coming to the Road to Indy. They weren't always winners in the ladder but all that experience eventually made them winners at the end. I'm not saying that guys like Sage Karam should spend the next 5 years in the Road to Indy but enough time to hone his skills and match up against the next potential stock of Indycar drivers.
Plus a year without a full time American in Indy Lights isn't going to kill us or the series. There are a ton coming up and teams like Andretti Autosport are making sure they get the sure deal and are the sure thing.
