    Shrooms!!

    Love my fungus.

Deep fried, or on a pizza, in a stew, with some chicken, any kinda way.

Ate a family sized order of fried shrooms last night all by myself, and will NOT apologize!

I like 'em outta the can but not so much fresh. But, there's those big ones that taste like steak.

Love 'em but have not been fortunate enough to sample any of the more exotic ones. I love porcini, shitaki, portobello and the everyday button. We were talking morels at lunch the other day and it sounds as though I need to try those too.

I LOVE MUSHROOMS! Yes, that's right, I just yelled that right out for everyone to hear.

Unfortunately, my smarter/brighter/better-half does not like them at all.

I use to do a pork chop recipe with a mushroom medley and a port wine reduction sauce. I miss that one.

Another, take a portabello and cut some slits in it. Then slice some garlic real thin. Insert the garlic slices into the slits on the mushroom. Lather with pesto and grill. YUM!

    Cool

    to 'shrooms. Love 'em.

Won't go hunt my own, though. I know (but could be wrong) that there's nothing poisonous that looks like a morel, so pretty ok with those fresh-picked. But won't eat any that aren't (USA) farm-raised and packaged in my big-chain grocer.

I think Im no longer into them. Used to like them in almost anything but theres alot of foods I dont like because of their texture and mushrooms are starting to bug me for that reason

Sauteed with butter and Worcester sauce. Hard to beat them.

Never really got into the ones from the 70's and early 80's.

This is our 2012 harvest of puffball mushrooms. The coffee mug is for scale comparison.

I was a bit surprised since it has been a dry season and they popped forth about two weeks earlier than the normal mid September.
