If this means what it seems to mean, that's a shame! While I've said before that I'm NOT a fan of PT, I hoped he got a full time ride this year because he'd be good for Indycar. Paul, if your reading this, I know you said full time or nothing, but please reconsider and try to put something together for at least Indy, if not Toronto and Edmonton too!

Has anyone answered the original question? Evidently the answer is nobody.

Thanks for the memories PT. As a Canadian sad to see you go out this way and it's a shame we won't see you one last time in Indycar. Will continue to follow the series but will remember your bada*s drive at Toronto in 2009 and your Indy qualifying in 2010 as well as CART days. All the best PT

If this is the end then this is where it begins where people will now "always wonder" how PT would have done against...

    Paul Tracy = Legend

    noun

    1. a nonhistorical or unverifiable story handed down by tradition from earlier times and popularly accepted as historical.

    2. the body of stories of this kind, especially as they relate to a particular people, group, or clan: the winning of the West in American legend.

I remember years ago when A.J. announced his retirement and at what would be his last Indy 500 as a driver, he had car trouble coasting into pit lane, and everyone was cheering, even A.J. haters, Paul should come back to at least do Indy, I bet he would get the same or even better reaction!

cocaine is a hell of drug; 4 time winning legend vs 1 time almost but not quite; paul had an amazing career but lets not get carried away. there were quite a few cheers 2 years ago when he didn't make the field

@ Vangel: AJ was of a different era - but in the era of "The Split" I believe such an acknowledgement for PT is certainly acceptable.

Your attitude lends me to think of Russian hockey players of the Soviet era who are excluded from the Hockey Hall of Fame or Negro League ballplayers who have been excluded from Cooperstown.

Just because Paul spent his best years (competing against arguably the deepest fields of the modern era - CART of the mid/late 90's) not spending May in Indiana makes him no less knowledgeable than Rice, Cheever or Goodyear...

I'm taking nothing away from Paul's career...to me its like comparing Michael Jordan and Isaiah Thomas; one is arguably the greatest ever and the other is a hall of famer; PT is just not what AJ Foyt is at Indianapolis. 7 titles, 67 wins and 4 indy 500's or 1 title, 31 wins and 0 indy 500's; my wife said paul should do retirement lap at toronto (i think that would be a great honor for him)

Agreed - but I'd rather see him run Indy then retire and then be the Pace car driver for Toronto.

    How about Gainsco

Don't know a better way to say it.....im disappointed with Shank! Maybe someone can get the Lotus being held for MSR now. Team is make believe IMO, engine should never have been held this long

Anything can happen....maybe one of Rahals checks wont show up. Until I see St Pete with no PT I'll still be hoping he makes it happen

Sadly, if Ralph's (owned by Kroger) was stepping up as a sponsor... finding a shopping cart would nor be needed. PT would also be "gainfully employed"

Hmmm...Canadian Mist won at Indy with Dario.....
I do believe that was Canadian Club, goldie.

Apparently the new release "Collingwood Whiskey" is really really nice - if that is what he is talking about.

Funny, instead of arguing like school kids I actually went out and explained why PT had a rough season in 2007 through little/no real fault of his own............... Perhaps next time I'll simply let you all keep slugging away and not bother to offer something of actual relevance.
We're gonna go extinct, and we're gonna do it drinking scotch and driving muscle cars.

Guess that tells you just how big the checks at rahal have to be

Interesting read by Gordon Kirby - "The way it is/Paul Tracy Odessey" . The opening paragraph says it all.

They don't make them like Paul Tracy anymore. Tracy is a throwback to a less politically correct time. He's a rarity in IndyCar today, a driver who speaks his mind, wears his emotions on his sleeve and, at 43, still drives with the same aggressive verve that made people love him or hate him over twenty-one years racing Indy cars.
