How does a writer cause a business to change its mind? I give Randy crap for letting Robin get to him, but come on, writers don't cause businesses to make a call.....that is in the business....not the writer

It's probably nothing, as has been mentioned.

If it did have some effect it might be that another driver read it and upped their offer to get the seat. That's how it can have the potential to screw up a deal.

Tracy will be all right, he's got Hollywood's ARMA money. Can't wait until he pulls a fast one on Fisher Nut like he did on Monster.

Do you really think that Paul`s money could be a catalist for getting NHR back into the game? It would be cool if they found a way to make that happen.

Might be Coyne. While James Jakes has the money, you have to wonder if Honda is reluctant to issue a contract to Coyne, even with Justin Wilson there, given Jakes 2011 performance?

Point taken but Jakes did start to look better the 2nd half of last year. He had to have learned something from SeaBass. Besides Tracy's money is supposingly tied to Honda and this could be the final piece to make Coyne a Honda team with PT and Wilson. It makes sense. Based on what Cavin and Miller are saying it looks like its Shank or Coyne for PT.

I lost faith in the Shank rumor when the 24 deal was announced with Doran. If his Indycar deal was tied to Shank, logic says he'd be racing for Shank at Daytona and not a competitor. Sounds to me like it is Coyne all the way at this point based on hints and rumors. If true, I have mixed feelings. While J-Dub and PT would be a great driver lineup with Pappas engineering, they're still going to be in left-center field with wind tunnel work on the ovals. Coyne hasn't cashed anybody's check yet so they likely haven't even been to the tunnel.

I can tell you for a fact they are done. They got a couple people milling around the building but that's all. As of two days ago they have nothing planned or any intention of doing so.

That is straight from the source.

Doesn't Bobby Rahal live in Chicago?? Maybe PT is meeting with him directly..? Mmmmmmm

I worry a bit about it being Coyne, their 2nd car has never been good. Maybe that will change with more money and some of the ex-NH staff.

No one's been to the tunnel except the INDYCAR development team, and I don't believe anyone is going to the tunnel this year.

Wilson + Tracy = the best car development duo in the series + Newman Haas Staff + equal equptment this year = Red Car Assassins.

    Make it happen guys!

One positive is that it will be a brand new chassis and not some old "something" they cobbled together working on a shoestring budget compared to the big teams.

I think it would be a real strong team with JW/PT/ and Pappas.

I also think the fact that they are a Honda Team, and PT has Honda Canada money, and there are only a couple of other Honda spots open it's a good sign.

I'm placing my duckets on MSR.

This is still Coyne......... he's not going to provide a budget for 1.5 cars...... which is what is being speculated. If I were Jimmy Jakes I would be on the phone with Foyt, Schmidt and Rahal.

My guess is that Coyne is leveraging, and if I were Jakes I would provide my own.

When they ran the DP01 the car was brand new and still a mess.

I would think Ganassi has had a car running in his "secret" tunnel already.

The only possibility with Coyne is that Honda is waiting on Paul Tracy to see if he can get enough money to land the Coyne seat, and then they give DCR the engine contract. Though I might still expect PT to wind up with MSR, wouldn't it be better to be teamed with Justin Wilson than on your own?

How is this different than any other year when Tracy has been running around scrambling for a ride?
