Exclamation The ALL Danica Patrick NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide thread 2012

    SPRINT Cup and Nationwide

The Go Daddy girl's limited schedule in 2012 will be in a bright green No. 10 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet Impala, using the number she wore in American karting before moving to Europe where she competed in Formula Ford and Formula Vauxhall, both series considered stepping-stones to Formula 1.

In addition to her full-time Nationwide Series schedule with JR Motorsports, Patrick will run Cup races at Daytona, Darlington, Bristol (the night race), Atlanta, Chicagoland, Dover (fall race), Texas (fall race) and Phoenix (fall race).

Full schedule 33 races or 32 depending on how much momey is involved for her to compete on the other race

She looks like she's having fun.

    Happy, even

I was quite surprised she won't be racing the brickyard in the cup car. Perhaps its because she's already there in the NW car.

I watch Daytona every year without fail, its the only cup race I really "watch" and I'm 35 so I should have no reason for blood pressure medication but I'm thinking of getting some for when those network/booth buffoons start preaching about how this "Is the single biggest race of Danica's career" and "how she's never raced against a field this deep" I was a fan of hers because I think a driver who takes care of equipment and uses their head is pretty unappreciated and because I believe there is a bit of double standard for behavior (Stewart can behave like a boor when things don't go right but Danica seems to get ripped for the same thing) but she lost me for good when she left and said she was going "because cup cars are more fun to drive" I live in Cleveland and have seen a tons of our best players go for tons of cash elsewhere. That's all she had to say was "I'm getting paid better" and I would have been cool with it. Now? Forget about it.

Thou I will say I predict an above average career for her in the cup cars because of what I stated above. She really takes care of equipment.
I'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has

She currently isn't scheduled for the Brickyard in Sprint Cup because the criteria Tony used when selecting tracks was tracks that she was unfamiliar with or were more difficult (she lobbied to start at Daytona because she has a bit of a comfort level with the track and type of racing already even though it doesn't really fit their criteria)... When they announced her schedule they addressed the Brickyard by saying they felt she had so much track time already there and the fact she would already be running Nationwide this track wasn't a priority. But they still have two more races to announce so it could still be added.

Personally, I believe she is having more fun in Nascar so I don't have a problem with her saying she thinks the cars are more fun to drive.

thanks for the brickyard info, thou I will say the Brickyard is the 1st race of the ESPN/ABC package every year so one has to wonder if that might have some impact down the road. ESPN heavily promotes that race.

Personally, I'd be intimidated in either position (in front or behind).

Talent, experience, learning more are great things to watch.

The reason they didn't want her to run the Brickyard has more to do with concentrating all their efforts into getting Tony or Ryan the win.............It will still come down to what Mr. GoDaddy wants since he's paying the bills..............Remember that she runs Nationwide for Jr Motorsports and that won't detract Stewarts organization any............

Well, he said that if he gets itchy for his Nationwide fix, he will try to work in a few races. Said he wants to concentrate on the Cup. In the meantime, sounds like his family is happy to be able to spend more time together. Personally, I'd like to see him compete in a few NNS races this season. The kids need the experience of racing against him--Plus, I'd like to get more bang for my bucks, considering the $$$ we're spending on NNS/Cup races this year. Ouch.

And don't forget the new KBM car, so kind of a wash in "likely" finishing position.

Apparently she was required to tell the Andrettis by Jan of 2011 what she was doing. They helped with the subterfuge over the summer

    Danica skips Indy 500

CONCORD, N.C. -- Danica Patrick has added the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to her 2012 Sprint Cup schedule, eliminating any possibility she will run in the Indianapolis 500.

"I'm not going to do the Indy 500,'' the former IndyCar Series driver said on Monday to kick off the 2012 Sprint Media Tour. "I hope to do it in the future. Maybe it'll be a double.

Stewart Haas Racing has finalized an alliance with Tommy Baldwin Racing that guarantees Patrick a starting spot in the Sprint Cup opener and keeps her No. 10 car on the track for the entire Cup schedule, team owner Tommy Baldwin said on Tuesday.

Patrick will be locked into the Feb. 26 race with the owner's points accumulated last season by TBR driver Dave Blaney, who was 33rd. The top 35 in owner's points from last season are guaranteed a starting spot in the first five races, meaning Blaney now will have to qualify his way into the 500 field.
