Max Papis raced clean. Jaquez not so much. I'm surprised Sam got past him without getting frogged. (I can say that because my wife is French.)

Do you think Villeneuve would've disappeared from the face of the earth if he wrecked The Captain's other car?

Surprised she managed to be professional in front of the camera for the interview. Thought she would explode which she had a perfectly good reason to. Perhaps she's actually learning something from JR.

Good racin between Max and Danica BTW. Lots of rubbin'

Great run for her today because she had a top 5 car but she made a few mistakes that put her in the position she was in. Unfortunate circumstance being where she was because JV had dirt on his tires and that's why he wheel hopped.

I thought she wouldn't crack the top 10 but she spent most of the day there, great day for her but not the result that she should have deserved.

She didn't need to rough Max up (those two raced each other hard and fair), just didn't have enough speed to get by and pull away him, that's what got her stuck in the situation where JV pulled a JV and punted somebody on a road course in a stock car.

She deserved better and Villeneuve's "I don't care" reaction in the interview is why I hate seeing him at these races because he ALWAYS ruins somebody else's day and never seems to feel bad about it. Danica and other NW regulars are running a full season and points are at stake, JV and the ringers run 3 races yet race like clowns.

I have never been a fan of JV's, but he gave a "reasonable" explantaion for being JV, as for his "I don't care" remark, it was in response to what Tony Jr said to him, not necessarily about taking out DP

If I was Danica...next race he goes in the wall.

C'mon now........you really think JV cares if he ruined Danica's day?

I am sure JV, a World Champion and Indy 500 winner is going to spend a lot of time thinking about what Tony Eury Junior thinks.

Which is why he said " I don't care"

She ran strong and clean today, and she gained respect from some of those road course ringers and some of the paddock today. JV clearly punted her and ruined a top 5 finish, and his explanation was plausible; although his "don't care" comment was weak sauce.

Probably the most impressed I've ever been of Danica. Equally impressed with her postrace attitude.

I did not say she needed to, I said she needed to get around him. I am glad she did not rough him up because Max races clean and is an all around nice guy. If she gets around Max earlier, she likely has an easy 4th place finish (easy as in no pressure).

The guy asked JV what Eury Jr said to him, JV said " I really don't care"

Much like NASCAR, the announcers want Danica to succeed so badly. They want that diversity.

However, Rusty was extremely neutral and is starting to tell it like it is on commentary. Not just about Danica but about the whole field (Joey Logano felt his commentary wrath at Dover for taking out the #24). I made a thread about it but nobody has seemed to notice so far.

Andy Petree is her biggest fan though. She can do no wrong in his eyes, much like DW. However, ESPN is enamored with her and I expect nothing less from "the Mouse."

No - you said it in Post #338. He doesn't care who it is. He didn't wreck her because she's DP. He wrecked her because she was in front of him.

And had she stayed up there, I think she would have beat all the Nationwide regulars. Let's hear it for the ringers.

And that attitude goes a long way in explaining why he can't buy that full time Cup ride he's been chasing after for a few years now.

I loved a few years back in the 500 qualifying race, he pulled a usual dumb JV move and caused a big crash. IIRC, he pulled the "its not my fault", "why is everybody mad at me" line. Never was a JV fan in his open wheel days, but this guy just gets worse and worse over the years (though yesterday the dirt probably played a little bit into it).

I'm not a Danica fan AT ALL, but she couldnt have handled that interview any better.

As a long time Danica critic, I gotta give her some love on the RA race. She did a great job, interesting to me because while she came from road course racing, it certainly wasn't her strength area in Indycar.
Anybody know if they did some test programs with a driver coach? As for Jaques, what a lame dude. Act like you're a professional, not an 18 yr old phenom.

Villeneuve's a one way street, no talent hack, at least for me...

During the broadcast, they mentioned she spent some time following her teammate Ron Fellows around. Beyond that, no idea.

I'm not a Danica fan. I was impressed that she took the high road on her post race interview when it would have been justifiably easy to call JV out as an idiot.

    McDowell's comments say a lot :

    "
"Jacques put it three wide, and then stopped," McDowell said. "He drove it in so far, he just stopped. I'm like, 'Man, hey, there's still a race going on here; let's go.' I just got into him a little bit, not intentionally, not blatantly.
"But, however, I did come off that corner going, 'Hooo, glad I don't have to worry about that dude any more.' I'm not trying to be a funny guy but your nerves get awful tight when the 22 is around you on these road course races. It's like indoor karting; you just never know when your buddy's going to run you over. I was glad he was far enough back that I didn't see this white lightning ball coming down into Turn 5 on any of the rest of the restarts."
