There should be a rule that a driver is penalized if they say anything a 4 year old can't hear.

Maybe that's why Foyt has struggled so much in recent years. Secret scanner-language penalties.

She has colorful names for her fellow Indy drivers usually it starts with letter "F". She is definetely PG13 on the scanners.

Me and jandj almost went into convulsions during the Richmond race in 2001 when Cheever took out Salazar. Foyt was at the top of his game on the scanner.

One of the first times I ever listened to a scanner during a race was Anthony's first go of it. AJ might have had to sell his ranch to pay the fines from that day...

OT--But, not really. The most memorable time I heard A.J. Foyt was on Pole Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This was during his last years of driving an Indy Car. He put the car in the field, but, not a great qualifying run. After pulling in for official photos the tracks public announcer asked Foyt about his run on the track. A.J. Foyt replied: "It drove like a tub of S---!"

I have more of a problem with the media trying to make her out to be this great role model for young girls than I do her language. In fact I find her rants rather amusing she can cuss with the best of em'.

Who has ever thought she was a great role model for young girls?

    Quite the opposite, really.

You want to see how not to act when things don't go your way and how not to treat people or how not to move yourself up in your chosen profession? Then do everything the opposite of her and you'll be fine.

    A "role model"? Hardly.

She does. She has said so.

The season is young. Look on the bright side. Last year, you had two "All Danica Patrick Threads" to juggle. LOL! (btw: thanks for the photos/videos)

    "That mf'ing Cheever.....cs'er!"
I've told this one before :
Indy, right after the start Anthony's radio goes dead.
First pit stop they change the earbuds, which promptly fall out.
AJ's response, over the air - "Whoever taped them buds on might as well have shoved 'em up his ass for all the good they're doing".

I thought it was amusing how DW tried to give Danica credit for single handedly teaching NASCAR drivers to pull their hands from the steering wheel when they are about to make contact. Maybe I should have said; "double handedly"?

Mostly amused that DW either thinks we are that stupid or that DW is actually that stupid to believe it himself.

Of course then they had nothing but praise for how she threaded the needle to avoid serious damage (apparently meaning less than 70 lap damage) when she was wrecking on the way (hitting two cars) to getting to Jimmy Johnson.

DW is gonna make Danica a NASCAR All-Star or die trying. LOL

Danica finishes disappointing 38th in Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Three races, three wrecks. Even if it wasn't really her fault, Danica Patrick went 0-for-Daytona.
Patrick got caught in a crash on just the second lap of her Daytona 500 debut Monday, a continuation of a week's worth of troubles at Daytona International Speedway. After her crew made extensive repairs to her car, she got back in the race and finished 38th.
After noting that she was disappointed for any new fans who might have tuned in to watch her race, Patrick acknowledged that she also was disappointed for herself.
"I would have loved to have run up there. I would have loved to have got the experience when you actually were racing for positions as opposed to just feeling it out," Patrick said. "But I truly believe everything happens for a reason."
The accident came just minutes after the green flag dropped Monday night, beginning when Elliott Sadler turned five-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson. He shot into the wall, then rolled back down the track.
Patrick was coming along behind the accident and was caught in the chaos.
"I mean, I was pretty speechless," Patrick said. "I didn't really know what to say. I just pretty much kept my mouth shut and just sat there. Just breathe."

I have to wonder how Danica's Mother is feeling after this weekend? She must have felt some relief when her Daughter decided to switch to NASCAR, especially after Vegas. Then opening weekend for NASCAR and not only is it a crash fest but Danica took an incredibly hard hit on the inside wall. I bet any notion that her Daughter might be a little bit safer in NASCAR flew right out the window.

How many of those involved in wrecks during the entire Speedweek's, had any sort of injury?

I think the answer is none.

Stock Cars much, much safer then Indy Cars.

All racing by their culture is dangerous, but NASCAR cars are safer. Would you rather have a loved one on the road in Crown Vic, or a motorcycle?

I am aware that NASCAR is safer than IndyCar. I am also aware that IndyCar has horrific crashes and most of the time the drivers walk away.

Regardless, I am talking about a Mother watching her Daughter go through several crashes in a matter of days. If that safer barrier wall had not been installed on the inside wall yet, there could have been a different outcome.

As it seems with many of the young "ladies" today - sugar and spice is not in "nice" today.

I can't remember the last time a cup driver has a serious injury that resulted him missing a race. I wish I could say the same about Indycar.
I'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has
