Shaffer holds off Blaney for 50th UNOH All Star win

Quincy, MI (Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012) By Brian Liskai– Tim Shaffer, fresh
off his University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions Great
Plains Regional Championship, held off season-long challenger Dale Blaney
to earn his 50th career series win at the Butler Battlegrounds Speedway
    Saturday night.

The win is Shaffer’s fifth of the season with the UNOH All Stars and moves
him just three victories away from tying Frankie Kerr for sixth on the
series’ all-time win list. It also takes him one step closer to winning his
fourth consecutive UNOH All Star championship, which has only been
    accomplished twice before – Kenny Jacobs (1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001) and
Chad Kemenah (2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005). Shaffer was also able to nip into
Blaney’s lead for the $20,000-to-win UNOH All Star Ohio Regional
    championship.

Pittman claims Western PA victory, third UNOH All Star win of 2012

MERCER, PA (8-25-12)By Brian Liskai – Daryn Pittman may want to consider
following the University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions
next season. The Pittsboro, Indiana resident led wire-to-wire Saturday to
claim the 23rd Western Pennsylvania Championship at Mercer Raceway Park.

It was Pittman’s third UNOH All Star win of 2012 and the second this month.
The victory is Pittman’s eighth career series win, all coming in the last
four years. He leads the $20,000-to-win Eastern Region of the UNOH All
Stars, though the Mercer event was part of the series’ Ohio Region points.

“We've been struggling in Central PA, so it's just good to come out here
and get a win," said Pittman beside his Mike Heffner owned #27 carrying
Lelands.com, Pasquariello’s, Danny Auto Salvage sponsorship.

Gressman survives wild UNOH All Star event to tame Attica

ATTICA, OH (9-1-12)By Brian Liskai – It was a wild and wacky finish to the
2012 season at Attica Raceway Park Saturday. And when the rain started
falling it was Fremont, Ohio’s Phil Gressman who was standing in victory
lane for his fifth career University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit
    of Champions Sprint Car win.

The night started with a two hour rain delay. As officials pushed the show
rapidly along, it appeared the 40-lap feature on Baumann Auto Group Night
would be exciting. It turned into an event-filled race with five red flags
and four cautions. And just when it looked like Dean Jacobs would earn the
victory after leading the first 36 laps, he either ran out of fuel or
suffered some other mechanical woe, handing the lead to Gressman. Gressman
had to fend off Danny Holtgraver the final four circuits to score his 7th
    career Attica victory.

For Gressman, who destroyed a car a few weeks ago battling up front at
Attica, it was his first win of the season. The UNOH All Star win is his
first since 2004, with all five of his career series victories coming at
    different tracks.

Holtgraver likes 'home cookin' at Lernerville...takes UNOH All Star win

SAVER, PA (Friday, Aug. 31, 2012) By Brian Liskai– Danny Holtgraver circled
this weekend on his calendar two months ago. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
resident couldn’t wait for the University of Northwestern Ohio All Star
Circuit of Champions’ event at Lernerville Speedway.

Holtgraver, a 2010 track champion at Lernerville, passed early leader Brian
Ellenberger on lap 10 and survived a couple of late race restarts to score
his second career UNOH All Star win Friday at “Savertown.” It marks the
second consecutive win at Lernerville for Holtgraver and his fourth of the
season at the track. He now had eight feature wins in 2012.

Holtgraver caps off fantastic weekend with UNOH All Star win at NAPA Auto
    Parts Wayne County Speedway

ORRVILLE, Ohio (Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012)By Brian Liskai – What a weekend
Danny Holtgraver had – two University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit
of Champion Sprint Car wins and a runner-up finish. The Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania resident scored his third career UNOH All Star win Sunday at
the NAPA Auto Parts Wayne County Speedway to wrap up the Labor Day weekend,
after a close second the previous night at Attica and on Friday taking the
    win at Lernerville.

Holtgraver, just 22 years of age, drove from his 16th starting spot around
Byron Reed with five laps to go to take the lead and his ninth overall win
    of the season.

“What an unbelievable weekend…what an unbelievable night. I watched the
B-main and the dash and it was pretty much no passing and a little dusty.
Then we go out for the feature and the track just got awesome. To come from
16tth with just one yellow…I still can’t believe the car was that good,”
said Holtgraver beside his Kargo Quality Cars and Trucks/Alternative Power
Sources/Spinneweber Auto Sales, VRP Shocks backed #D4.

Blaney gives UNOH All Stars first ever win against PA Posse

PORT ROYAL, PA. (Friday, Sept. 7, 2012) By Brian Liskai– Sprint car drivers
like to set goals going into a season. There’s always the “win more races”
objective and the “win a championship” goal. For Dale Blaney, he added “win
a race against the PA Posse” to his list of objectives for 2012.

The “Low Rider” did just that Friday at Port Royal Speedway. Despite a car
that spewed heavy smoke the last part of the race, Blaney led all 30 laps
to become the first UNOH All Star in the series’ history – since 1981 - to
conquer the challenges of Port Royal Speedway in the Night Before The 50.
He would roll into victory lane with a completely flat right rear tire.

The win aboard the Ti22 Performance #2 is Blaney’s 9th UNOH All Star
victory of 2012 and the 93rd of his career, moving him to within five of
typing Kenny Jacobs atop the series’ all-time win list. It is Blaney’s
first victory since he scored back-to-back UNOH All Star wins July 21 and
24 at Wilmot (Wisconsin) and Hibbing (Minnesota).

Esh defends Posse turf against UNOH All Stars, wins Tuscarora 50 at the Port

PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012) By Brian Liskai – Doug “The
Hammer” Esh defended the PA Posse’s home turf against the invading
University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions Saturday at
Port Royal Speedway to claim the 45th Annual AB Auto Glass Tuscarora 50.

Esh, from Lancaster, Pa., had to hold off a charging UNOH All Star driver
“Dangerous” David Gravel to earn his first career UNOH All Star victory.
Esh’s first win of the season was worth $11,450 for Esh.

But it was Owasso, Ok. native Daryn Pittman who took home the big money.
With his sixth place finish, Pittman claimed the UNOH All Star’s $20,000
check for winning the series’ Eastern Region Championship.

Sebetto gets late race pass of Blaney for Fremont All Star win

FREMONT, OH (9-15-12) By Brian Liskai– All it took was one very little
mistake by Dale Blaney on a restart with four laps to go Friday at Fremont
Speedway and Bryan Sebetto was there to pounce. Sebetto executed a perfect
slide job in turns three and four to take the lead and went on to score his
22nd career win at “The Track That Action Built.” While the win against the
University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions is the third
of his career, it was the first for Sebetto’s car owners Randy and Lisa
    Hammer.

Blaney came into the weekend at Fremont having won all four of the UNOH All
Star events at the track in 2012. But, Sebetto gave notice in the dash that
he was going to be a force to be reckoned with on the opening night of the
Jim Ford Classic weekend presented by All Pro Cylinder Heads. Sebetto
hounded Blaney the entire distance of the six lap race and Blaney knew come
feature time he would have his hands full with Fremont Speedway’s 2011
champion and the recently crowned Kistler Racing Products Fremont Attica
    Sprint Title (FAST) champion.

The victory was the second straight at Sebettto’s hometown track. Overall
Sebetto has nine wins in 2012 – 4 at Attica Raceway Park.
