Faster than a bullet from a gun
He is faster than everyone
Quicker than the blinking of an eye
Like a flash you could miss him going by
No one knows quite how he does it but it's true they say
He's the master of going faster. -George Harrison
That can't be...we were told that her 15 minutes were over by some on these forums...
Then I guess its all those Cole Whitt fans that are tuning in now
As soon as she moves up to the Sunday Series the Saturday ratings will drop an equal amount and the Sunday ratings will go up an equal amount.
Maybe even a little less as she wont be the Shiniest of the Shiny New Things by then
Her 15 minutes were up in the Indy Car world.
She's got about 5 minutes left in the NASCAR Nationwide world.
Then when she moves up to the Cup world, she'll get another 15 minutes there.
After the stock car experiment ends, maybe she'll come back to the Indy Car world and see if she can rekindle another 15 minutes.
Yep.
If she is the sole reason (which some of the "enlightened" around here think) ratings went up for 4 races, then what happened for the 2 races that ratings didn't move?
Did people forget she was in those 2 Busch Series contests? Or is her power and fandom only measured when its for the positive?
If she's a positive ratings bump then it's clear that Brain France needs her in the Cup series rigtht about now & the next of her 10 races can't come fast enough...
Kansas ratings from Jayski of course
Kansas Overnight TV Ratings: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing on Fox posted a 3.7/9 on Sunday for the STP 400 from Kansas Speedway. Though that's off -20% from last year's 4.6/11 for the Talladega 400 which aired on the comparable weekend, it's off just one-tenth from last year's Kansas race which aired later in the season, and when the nationals are released, it's expected to rank as the top-rated event of the weekend. Through eight races, NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing on FOX is averaging a 4.5/9, off -8% from last year's 4.9/11.(4-23-2012)
I'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has
And there were ... *wink-wink* 75,000 *wink-wink*in attendance.
3 weeks, he can wait
Speaking of Darlington, the overnight's for the races there on Fox since they started airing Nascar in 2001, with 2005 being the first night race: http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2011...fox-overnight/

Overnight ratings flat compared to last year
Per Jayski
Overnight TV Ratings for Richmond: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing on FOX averaged a 3.4/6 on Saturday night for the race from Richmond International Raceway. That's flat with last year's performance of a 3.4/7 for the same race. Through nine races, NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing on FOX is averaging a 4.4/9 in the meters, off -6% from last year's 4.7/10. See TV Ratings from all the 2012 races as well as the 4 year comparison chart on the 2012 TV Ratings page.(4-30-2012)
Yes flat but in the context of the usual arguments that get brought up. Sports ratings are DOWN across the board is what people say when the ratings are down. So not going down goes against that trend. And in any case remember this, there's still a positive digit in front of the decimal point which any OW series would love to be able to see.
"You can't arrest those guys, they're folk heroes"
"They're criminals"
"Well most folk heroes started out as criminals"
And more on the Cup rating woes from RIR per SMW:
And this thread has nothing to do with AOWR, it's about the Cup Series, which is seeing some serious ratings issues leading up to their next tv contract. The 3.4 overnight is tied as the second-lowest ever for NASCAR on FOX, ahead of only the 2009 Subway Fresh Fit 500 from Phoenix (3.3).
In addition, the 3.4 is tied as the lowest for the spring race from Richmond since it moved to FOX in 2007.
Your correct I'd love to have even a 1.5 for ratings for our series. But as Mopars pointed out this isn't really about AOW ratings comparison.
The networks several years ago didn't pay NASCAR all that money for 3.4 ratings. They were paid on the belief they would continue to produce high 4's and low 5's. See below:
http://www.jayski.com/pages/tvratings2006.htm
Its going to be real interesting to see how the TV contracts go. Don't get me wrong there's still value there but nearly what was sold to the networks 7-8 years ago.
In spite of the doom and gloom in this thread I assume Talladega will be run this Sunday...with a large crowd in attendance...of course, I could be wrong...
Talladega will get lots of eyeballls and lots of butts in the seats
There might finally be another Big One again so lots of the NASCAR fans that have been screaming all season for more yellows
(AKA carnage)
will be glued to the TV this week
Maybe they will even get treated to a stock car taking 100 feet of catch fence down.
Boogity boogity boogity
Just checked the schedule and Howard is right that talladega is this Sunday.
