This week we are going to show Barnstormers a look back at the really early years of racing in America, along with some Speedway Legends.

Next week we will be starting our count down to Indy with a History of the race and some past Indy 500's.

Come on out and enjoy the fun and good food and friendship.

Yes we will be showing Race thru the Century and some Indy 500's of old. Only four more weeks left, so come on out and enjoy and evening of good friends and memories from the past.

It is not always whats in the front of the picture but the background items and people that can be interesting. No matter how many times you view these films, you can always find something you had not seen before, or a fact you did not know.

    Hot Laps: 6:30

    Checker falls: 9:00

Thank you Mother Duck for a very enjoyable evening and as Impact warned; "You're never too old to learn something new about the Speedway." Found out last night that Lotus showed up in 1963 wearing Firestones... I had always just assumed that they showed up with Dunlaps and didn't wear Firestones until after they had problems with their Dunlaps in 1964.

BTW Mother Duck something new for you too... Elmer and Mari's house wasn't the 3rd or 4th house from Lyhurst it was in the middle of the block where the outlet for the rear parking lot at the high school empties onto 25th street. It is the house that the town of Speedway is rehabilitating... I could always spot it because's Elmer's garage out back was nearly as big as the house.

I had a wonderful time at the Flag Room tonight, watching Indy 500 flicks and enjoying an excellent steak sandwich.
    Have a very blessed day!

Another movie season has come to an end at the Flag Room. The racing season is in full swing. Look for us to return in the fall around October to the Flag Room on Thursdays.

    SUMMER VIEWING starting June 12th
We are going to try something different this year. On Tuesday nights we will be showing race movies at the PIT STOP Barbeque Restaurant in Brownsburg.
We will start at 7:00 pm and end at 9:00 pm.
It is a great racing themed restaurant, even has a restored Dreyer midget in the Main dining room and a current day midget in the Salad Bar area. If you have never been there, stop by and give it a try. Food is great. For those with kids we have the big screens from the Bar area tied into the Main Dining room, so you can bring the whole family to see the films.

    WHERE: Pit Stop Restaurant
WHEN: Tuesday nights (starting June 12th)
    TIME: 7pm -9pm

My group was told that we would be able to watch all Indy Car races at the Flag Room this season.
The Flag Room was closed last Sunday when we turned up. Why was it closed and will it be closed
    all summer?
The BYC was open but there was no one in the back.

Can not answer you, we have nothing to do with the BYC except arrange to have space to show movies in the FLAG ROOM there during the winter months. Sorry. The company that runs the BYC is called CIBUS.
