Who said anything about exposed wheels being the issue? That's certainly not what I was talking about when I mentioned changes in the rulebook and mindset of the powers-that-be.

I believe I just did. I tried to PM you about it, but your box is full, as usual

It's what I think a lot of people object to, though.

Look, we can agree or disagree about whether there's a place in Indiana called Brazil, but I think we can all agree that Spike's a pedant.

i was not a fan of the delta wing for indy, but i am happy it will make lemans. if concepts from that design and bowlby thinking can help indycar in the future via technology, design changes, etc. i am all for it. i did not want it at indy for 2012, but who knows what the future will bring. sit back folks and learn what you may not already know. good luck ben & co at lemans.

Let's have Pruett do a few stories about it like he did with the DW12, like is it as fast as the designers said it would be or is it as fast as Pruett thinks it should be.

In my heart it will always be an indycar.. it was an innovative design to get around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Indianapolis 500 faster and more effecient than any other creation before it. In my book THAT qualifies it to be an " indy" car. I hope it shines, and I hope its allowed to run at the speedway in the future, recreating a modern day version of the rivalry between front and rear engine cars of the 60's.

The only thing that concerned me was have 33 spec cars at Indy again.

Isn't there a sports car forum this should be in?

I will be surprised if it handles well and sets decent lap times, but if it does, I never want to hear the excuse for the DW12 that its problems were related to it being a "new groundbreaking" design.

No disagreement about Brazil, Indiana existing... unless you think maps are inaccurate.

I do think we can all agree or disagree about Spike, but personally I welcome his vast racing knowledge. Also understand his quest to use proper English & general grammar. Google + online dictionaries are a simple right click away for any TF member to use if in doubt. JMO.

This thing didn't make the cut, it's NOT and Indycar(thank God) can we please move this thread to the appropriate forum
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security

If that were ever the case I'd watch Nascar instead.

I think I'm the only one hoping this "thing" will fail
I remember an interview with Emmo about the 6 wheels F1 car. He said nobody wanted to work with that car, every engineer and driver outside of that team was expecting it to fail and he said people were pretty happy when it happened
I want to see some video tho.

Does it matter? If it were picked there was no way it could have been done on time let alone filling the 26 car FT field and the 33 field at Indy. It is just about March and it finally turns a wheel?

Lets see how it does in June.

I thought the design was silly. I just can't imagine it as an open wheel racer/indycar. But times change, and radical thinking and changes is what got us here.

I just count my blessings that TF wasn't around in 1967.

Seems kinda hypocritical to me that most posters on the forum bust a couple of people's chops around here for wanting a majority of the drivers to be American, but a lot of those same people are just as - hmm, tough word choice here - predjudiced? narrow-minded? when it comes to chassis choice.

    I don't get it.

Exactly. And Indianapolis can make any car look good.

Except for NASCAR bricks, of course.
