The reasons cited are legitimate... and reasonable. I don't have a problem with it.

No biggie. Makes perfect sense why they are moving it.

That stinks because I would have been able to go to the earlier test (if it was open that is), but I understand why they're doing it.

IMO this is a really bad idea. As far as I'm concerned the drivers have eliminated any ability to change the car if the test shows that the pack won't break up as they hope. How can there be a "critical parts shortage" before any races are run, but after 4 road races in 5 weeks there won't be! Not sure if you all watched the first four road races last year, but I'd bet there were more parts destroyed there than there were parts destroyed at the Texas race!

Won't surprise me if Texas gets the old "boycott" now.....drivers are going to go there, express concern, and the race may well get dumped because there won't be time for an additional test later

Bad planning IMO and again, caving in to team owners

And engine failure concerns? I'd rather find out there are engine concerns on a high speed oval in mid march, NOT early or Mid May!!

yup, let's just go ahead and jump to worst case outcomes.

If the cars won't come apart there, what do YOU think the drivers are going to suggest? And do you think Dallara car change the chassis, AGAIN, and manufacture new bits between May 8 and June 8.

I would just feel more confident in an extra month to work thru those issues

When was the last "test" that destroyed a bunch of cars and parts? Engines I get, but again, ya better test them on a high speed oval SOMEWHERE before they start grenade-ing on fast Friday....you know, the day before quals start for the only event we have that the world watches!

I'm much more concerned for Indy than St Pete or Texas

Dallara is manufacturing a new low downforce underwing that they can test much better in may then in march where only 2 or 3 cars will have them.

I understand that...and if it doesn't work? Back to the drawing board?

How about they just keep the boost up....that will separate the men from the boys

Quit providing evidence that IndyCar is making a logical decision. That won't be tolerated here.

Wont that cost the teams a lot of money? Should just go to a flat underwing for the mile and halfs

I think I'd be leaving that as a last resort option, it's easy and doesn't need much time to change as long as you come to an agreement with the engine manufacturers first.

I think they are just trying to measure twice (or in Dallaras case maybe a half dozen) and cut once. They need more than 3 cars on the track to determine how the racing will be.

Gee couldn't be because there is a shortage of engines could it? Honda's blowing them up and Lotus can't build them quick enough.

Nervous about this. By then its probably too late to make changes to the aero package before Indy practice. So we go into Indy not knowing how the cars react to each other at high speed? And you have one chance to make adjustments and get it right before the TX race. I understand why they cancelled the March test but they are taking a heck of a leap of faith putting a pack of cars together on an oval for the first time in May...
