Yep. In 2002 Beating Duke was kinda lost in losing the championship to Maryland.

I enjoy college basketball more than the pro game -- but I don't enjoy it as much as football. There's no emotional investment for me in this matchup. I'd probably root for Louisville, but that's not enough to keep me glued.

For me, it's not about a clean or dirty program. I just don't care for Ohio State. And is there any bigger douche in the Big Ten than Craft?

Not a chance. To those two programs nothing means more than beating each other... and when you put that game in the Final Four it becomes the biggest game either program has ever had.

That's because there is no rivalry whatsoever between Duke & IU. It's the polar opposite of the UK/UofL situation.

Adding Hollowell, Hanner and Patterson adds ridiculous depth that was not present this year. Any one of them could end up being a starter. Hollowell and Hanner are tall, long and athletic. Patterson is a lock down defender. Jurkin is a wildcard. He's enormous and extremely athletic, but undeveloped. He could be very dangerous in the future, but probably not next year. If Olidipo can develop a long range jumper he'd be the best player in the B1G. I'm not suggesting he will, but if he does... his first step is so quick that defenders play off of him a little. If he was a good shooter that would be a difficult decision, guard tight and risk getting blown by or leave him open to knock down the jumper. And all of this on top of the fact that IU will get back their best player over the last two seasons, who unfortunately has been injured; Maurice Creek.

IU is absolutely back as a national perennial powerhouse. They'll open the season ranked in the top 5 and I doubt they look back. They will only get better in 2013 and 2014.
It's like '90 again, kinda. Almost like there are too many good pieces. Hope Watford sticks around for the ride.

    On to football.

Besides, it isn't difficult to imagine a successful season that leaves you disappointed. Frankly only one team doesn't finish the season disappointed but many teams have successful seasons.
Fair enough. But, I guess my point is that you say this season will be worst for the Hoosiers in each of the next 5 years but what if for example, IU is a #1 seed and gets beat in the second round. Will you say that next season is better than this season? I think a few final 4's are needed in those next 5 years or I think a majority of IU grads will see it as a disppointment especially given the can't miss talent (as some project) that will be playing next year and the years following. Another variable is and I guess you could say it is a good one, what if Zellar leaves for the NBA after next season? Ditto for the incoming classes, what if some of those guys are there a year or two? Or can Crean can get these guys enough minutes to be happy? How does that effect your outlook for the next 5 years? Or what about the pressure? You've said IU played with house money this tourney....what about next year or the year after when essentially there won't be any excuses?

After what Crean said in the post game interview when IU beat a #12 seeded VCU....I thought it was a big time douche move. Just be happy you won and IU made it to a Sweet 16 for the first time in a decade....stooping to the level of calling out bball media guys for picking against IU is pretty damn sad in my book. But then again, he is married to a Harbaugh, so I guess it truly doesn't shock me.

Starting next year there is a multi-year pipeline of talent that won't be dependent upon a single player. IU will have depth, athleticism and talent at every position. IU's second unit next year may be as talented as this year's team. Next year is the year IU fans will expect the team to win 30 games, compete for B1G title and make a run for national championship. Going forward this will be the expectation more years than not. Now Crean gets to start earning his money because fan expectations are going to be very high going forward.

How about those Baylor Lady Bears?

38-0. Looked Great against Tennessee last night in the elite 8. Next up, 35-1 Stanford this Sunday. If we win out, we will be the first college team, men or woman, to go 40-0.

Only thing missing from last nights game was another dunk by Brittney Griner.

    Go Lady Bears!!!!!
After years of fighting and a split, guess what, we are all IndyCar

October will always be a sad racing month for me. RIP Greg and Dan. You both were great and we miss you.

How do Butler's bowl prospects look? Oh yeah.

Until Butler fields a BCS, or at least D1 level squad, please limit your football smack-talk to non-alum. You know the rules. Gomer and Frank are your huckleberry's there.

Not talking smack whatsoever, just stating the obvious based upon the last several IU football seasons. Any other knowledgable college football fan would say the same. I hope IU excels this year and turns a corner. But again, based upon past seasons and IU football in general, it probably isn't likely.

Just go. Like Indiana, scalping is legal there. Finding a place to stay may be a challenge. I think there will be plenty of tickets on sale for the finals after UofL beats UK (Go CARDS!!)

Minnesota representing the Big Ten well in the NIT. They will play in the championship against Stanford on Thursday (ESPN).

They were only a #6 seed (out of eight seeds in their region), but they've knocked off a #3, #2 (ACC), #4, and now a #1 (Pac-12) to reach the title game.

It will or at least should be more difficult to fire Tubby Smith with the Gophers run in the NIT

Gophers got blown out in the title game. Minnesota will have everyone back next year except Ralph Sampson III and he was injured most of the season anyway. Mdwabke may be back too if he decides to return. He received another year of eligibility and he was a pre-season first team Big 10 choice. I don't think Tubby is or was in any danger of being fired.

    Mark Cuban's got your answer
"Then you say, what about the kids that aren't college material or whatever?" Cuban said. "I think then we just put them in the D-League for three years and then they become draft-eligible with their class.

"They could go to Europe if they want, like Brandon Jennings. That'd be fine. There is nothing that I would like better than to throw our problems on FIBA. Then we'd get some of our money's worth with them."

If a 17 yr old is a computer genius & Dell or Microsoft offers him a job making millions straight out of high school, there is absolutely no way he is going to go to college, he is going straight into the workforce.

I see absolutely no reason why basketball should be ANY different whatsoever. None. If an 18 yr old has the ability to make a living at his chosen craft immediately out of high school I just odon't see how he can be forced to go to college.

    I don't get it.

*that said, I sure wish Johnathon Bender would have went to college for a year... then maybe the Pacers would have kept Antonio Davis & drafted someone else.
