Ya, so the little venom wasn't lost on me, so he gets a little sarcasm back!

The only underwhelming part is that we can't watch anything live until Sunday.

Also, Ashley Judd was on Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show a couple days ago, with positive things to say about the series. All those little articles, blogs, tweets by drivers and teams, can only increase people's awareness of this great sport.
I don't disagree on the notion of building awareness, I am talking about creating hype for the start of a new season.

I think the late night talk show is a good idea, if the driver could make it work logistically. But for St. Pete, that seems like a lot of traveling when the drivers would normally be in town and focused on the race.

I really don't understand what people were expecting. Super Bowl level hype? Not even NASCAR had that this year.

Yep. Honestly, I think it was the best it's been in years. It's subjective, of course, but I'm happy with what I've seen so far.

Anyhow, I can inform you that the hype in our household is bigger than ever. Everyone's already drawn their drivers for this week out of the hat:

That's pretty cool! Here is the first thumbs up of the weekend. I don't give many of them out.

    Yeah, but.....................

MAY IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soon will be seeing/hearing the sweet sight and song of angry turbocharged engines screaming their defiant tones, cars searching for speed. We'll be anxiously waiting for the morning fog to clear and the safety trucks to indicate all clear and the track open for business, hanging our heads while we wait for the shower to pass and all the weepers to dry, and then jumping to attention when we hear those words: "The track is now green"!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like I'm gonna miss FF and quals this year for the first time in I can't remember how long, but I'll be there in spirit!!!!!

Used to be that a driver or two would run a local show the night before the "Champ Car" race and would sometimes hold court outside the pay window while sharing a brew or two, waiting for the promotor to count the money...
