If they build that oval that looks like Indy, these will be the yellow shirts:

Isn't Qingdao the country where Speed Racer raced Kaballa through the volcano?

I doubt it since Speed Racer is a Japanese invention

Because that epitomizes all Chinese people right? So what about the people from Taiwan who isn't under a communist government? Also I believe Hong Kong is under a special administration as well.

Well if IndyCar has a problem with it then just move the race to Hong Kong. Seem to recall an incident a while back when the government wanted to arrest protesters but they had no jurisdiction in Hong Kong and Macau

If not... then just enjoy the number count and don't complain

One private company's doings is not representative of all factories or working conditions. I have personally been to a Caterpillar plant in Wuxi and it is by far the best manufacturing facility I have EVER been in! The place I work at now is a hell hole compared to there (we have no AC, there is a constant "haze" in the air, the floors are dirty and slippery constantly, compared to them having AC, the air was clean and I could eat off of the floors, not to mention the employees work 40 hours a week compared to our maintenance doing a rotating swing shift of working 2 days on 1st, 2 days on 2nd and 2 days on 3rd, then they cycle back through which in the month of having it the people seem worn the heck out!).

If you're going to let one company cloud your judgement about all industries in a country, then you truly are blind to what happens in your own country and as to what it really is like in other countries. But hey, keep drumming up the party line and inhale your daily dose of Faux News!

Sorry to everyone else for getting political. I just hate seeing people taking a racing thread and using it as a platform for spreading ignorance and hate.

I'll see first hand in next week. And I'm pretty sure the big report recently on Apple and Foxcon (sp? ) was initiated by the New York Times, a bastion of the right wing.
    It's a Hoosier thing, you wouldn't understand...

Right... After all I did say that the working conditions at Foxconn was a right wing tactic aimed at drumming up blind nationalism in America instead of implying that people who perceive China as some Communist run hell hole and who get their "facts" from Faux News and the far right are nothing more than tools...

China is a very diverse country. There are places in rural China where the conditions are probably no better than Papua New Guinea. But the developed sections of China has first class facilities that can probably rival famous luxury buildings across the world.

But the poor provinces are very very poor and I wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone conditions prove to be true in these provinces. Since the race is in Qingdao I highly doubt you will see shoddy facilities in the middle of a third world environment.

Think about it this way... in the Middle East you have Iraq... then you have Abu Dhabi which is the richest city in the world.

Yes... I know... I've been to China for 6 weeks. And as hard as it is to believe, working at Foxconn is likely better than where many of the workers came from. Not to mention they are able to leave anytime.

I wasn't trying to combat your statement... only adding on to my thoughts on it. But yeah, there's a lot of places in China where the stereotype couldn't be farther from the truth

As far as I know they have not even released the track yet to the public. I would think that they will do it in the next month or so though.

Nothing official has been released to the public, and the only "leak" was that supposed media guide layout that I'm kinda skeptical about. NZR Consulting (Tony Cotman) has tweeted twice regarding releasing it "soon", those tweets were on Feb 22 and Mar 25, with a tweet on Mar 24 replying 2 weeks to a follower who asked...it's been 3 weeks and 2 days since the 24th

Im sure the officials at INDYCAR know the layout, they might just be finalizing some things before they release it. At least that's what I hope is going on, and it is not in any problem of not happening. I am curious though like everyone else on here I assume.

I know there was a rumor of a "secret" layout in this year's media guide. I know someone put a pic up that looked like it was scanned, but this one's the real deal:

Probably works at the big Mitsubishi building in town. Or is one of those Chinese who drives a Lexus, Toyota, Honda or Mazda. Heck, the cops ride Yamaha or Suzuki motorcycles.

You go to the City of Toronto website and there's no mention of the Toronto race
