I noticed that when I attended some vintage road racing or nostalgia events there seemed be some skipping of generations. Guys my age (60ish) would bring their grandchildren to the events. For the old guys it was a trip backwards in time when they were young. For the grandchildren it was a new experience. The events were quite a bit more relaxed so you could get real close to the cars and the drivers. One thing that hasn't changed is that the kids came home loaded with goodies (models mostly) and the grandfathers came home with a new basic load of T-shirts.
