Clutch hitting in the ninth last night, looks like Chapman is back on his game after giving up some HR's// wonder if they will ever be able to put him in the starting rotation.

Don't know why, he is golden as the Reds closer.

The Reds should throw some love to the Cubs too!
    Have a very blessed day!

Missed the game yesterday, great comeback. Hottest team in baseball ( yes ESPN we are hotter than the Oakland A's) and tied with the Nats for the best winning %, and putting a little distance between the Pirates and the Cards.... Heck of a road trip and a heck of a run with Votto on the shelf.

Reds take first two vs the Pirates (who are convinced that we are trying to take out their batters). Incredible run by the Reds without Votto and Bruce.

    ame

The good news (I guess) is the one and only Charlie Sheen donated $50,000 to the Cincinnati Reds community fund.

The bad news is the Buc beat the Reds 6 - 2. A. J. Burnett had the Reds number all year and today was no different.

Reds take two out of three for the series and netted one game more for the division lead that they started the weekend.

This might sound strange, but it's probably better to have a loss here and there to keep our heads out of the clouds.

Watching tonight's game with the Mets. Pre-game said that Votto had additional surgery Friday after aggressivly sliding on what looked like a slip and slide. Not as serious as his initial injury, so I am assuming they went in to clean up things.. but he will be on the shelf a bit longer..

PS, I know it is not a slip and slide

As long as the Reds have a decent lead, I say let him take as long as he needs. Let him be fresh in October.

October. That a fun word to use in a Reds discussion...

For sure, I would rather know that Votto will be coming back before the playoff starts , than the Nats knowing that Strasburg is about to be shutdown..

Sorry, I didn't mean bring him back in October. I meant that if he gets a couple more weeks of rest in August, then comes back in September, he'll be fresh in October.

I did not take it as October, actually, your October ref. reminded me of years gone by when the Reds sold the Hunt for Reds October T shirts..

What I meant was the fact we know Votto will be back before the playoffs, the Nats know that Strasburg will be on the shelf by then, I would rather be "us"

I'm getting a little anxious. First the lowly Houston Astros come into our GABP and takes the series , then the Reds sweep the Pirates and maybe putting them on the ropes for 2012, now the Florida (or is it the Miami) Marlins are ready to bounce the Reds out of the Sunshine State with a sweep.

Johnny Cueto has not been Johnny Cueto like in his last three starts and is stuck at 18 Ws. Crossing my fingers that something is not amiss with his arm. We really need him.

I'm not too anxious. Every team has their slow periods.

I'd be more worried if the Reds were tearing it up right now, that they might run out of steam.

The Reds will win the division. Period.

I won the opportunity to purchase NLDS tickets, and I just landed four to home game #2 (probably game #4 of the series).

    No-mer Bailey has become a solid #4 for the Reds. 13 - 10 3.75 ERA

Playoff time, game 1 at San Francisco.

Reds averted a disastrous start. Johnny Cueto hobbles off the field with one out in the bottom of the first. Sam LeCure played the impromptu stopper, got the Reds out of the first and got out of the 2nd with bases loaded. Latos on to pitch for the Reds in the third.

Phillips and Bruce with homers against Matt Cain...at AT&T Field no less. Not too shabby.

What an odd and, frankly, frightening (for a Reds fan) start to the series.

So THAT'S what it's like to win a playoff game. It had been a long time.

But I can't take this kind of drama at 1 AM. Let's have a neat and tidy win before midnight on Sunday night...

I missed the first inning watching footall, then I must admit to falling asleep for a few innings.. It was a tough decision for Dusty with Chapman, he threw more pitches than I am sure Dusty hoped for, but Chapman needed to stay on the mound and get some confidence and rythym back...

Big win on the road with all that went on...

Glad tomorrow is a day off, maybe I can stay awake tonight..

I managed to make it until the 5th inning. I was yawning something fierce before the first pitch was thrown. Latos was still pitching when I snoozed. I woke up and the game was over so I wandered up to bed just to be awakened by the cat a couple of hours later. I will get a nap in this afternoon (after all, the Bengals will be playing) so I can stay up tonight.

I didn't even make it to the start tonight due to sinus issues.

I knew Arroyo would do well at A.T.&T. but 7 innings of one hit shutout ball was beyond my expectations. Awfully glad the lumber is making a lot of noise. The Redlegs are sitting pretty.

    I have tickets to Wednesday's Game 4.

But if the Reds sweep the Giants on Tuesday, I'll be happy to take one for the team.

(If there isn't a game 4, my tickets are simply canceled and refunded. They don't carry over to the NLCS.)

I hope you can get down here for the next series if the Reds sweep.

5:30 start today, No-mer Bailey vs Ryan Vogelsong. Can't wait.
