Oh but is wasn't the "wrong" game... EVERYONE wants to see EVERY Yankees-Red Sox game.

I'm with you & Ren but I turned it on just in time to see the Bosox fold like a tent and took great pleasure in watching their (probably also Patriot) fans melt down.

It's possible that NYY/BOS gets higher ratings in the area than White Sox games. But if that's true, then maybe they should just give up and say that Indy isn't officially part of White Sox territory.

I'm not a White Sox fan, but their fans in Indy normally get just about every one of their games on WGN or CSNC. What's really stupid is that by putting them on free TV to presumably INCREASE their exposure, their availability was actually REDUCED today.

The same thing happens with the Reds a couple times a year, when they and the Cubs have FOX regional games on the same day. WXIN (almost) always goes with the Cubs in those cases, which means the Reds are blacked out in Indy.

No Cub season is complete without a little false hope thrown in for good measure.

Whenever the lovable losers from the North side of Chicago meet up with the Redbirds, I become a Cubs fan. Way to go, Cubbies!

After coming off a 3-7 homestand including getting a perfect game tossed at them, Mariners GM Jack Zdurencik says fans have to be patient, this team will win a championship. The are currently 8-10, hitting .233 as a team and alreadt 6 games back. They are averaging 3.7 runs a game, just about last in the American League.

The Cardinals do not appear to be a popular team around here.

The majors first four-game winner for the season? Marion County's own Lance Lynn. Yes its early and still a long way to go, but good to see a player from Indiana faring well.

My Astros seem to be making a habit of losing the first two games of the series and then looking great in winning the final game of the series to avoid a sweep. Lost first two games to bud's Brewers and then won today.
After years of fighting and a split, guess what, we are all IndyCar

October will always be a sad racing month for me. RIP Greg and Dan. You both were great and we miss you.

You recall that Bud hasn't been the owner in years, right?

They rub a lot of people the wrong way -- and not just division rivals.

Their fans love to imagine that it's because of success they've had, but that theory is easily refutable.

Only because fans of hated teams love to use that particular crutch all too often.

The problem is that it's, indeed, easily refutable.

I just switched from the Bruins game to the Red Sox game. In barroom terms, I just ordered a bottle of Jack with a baby tears chaser at last call. Awesome.

Two months, and Bobby V's dumb mug is already pissing me off.

Yeah I know, I was making a joke considering how everyone was turning into Cubs fans since they were playing the Cards.

Personally, I've never gotten into baseball rivalries that much, though I do enjoy a good Cubs (or Yankees) loss.

I've not followed the Sox much, but what happened with Francona? Does that all stem from the news of the pitchers drinking beer in the clubhouse? Of all the managers for them to replace him with, they go with Bobby V? I was kinda surprised by that.

Francona was partly because of the clubhouse stuff, but more the general collapse in September. And also, the crew that he managed to two titles was mostly gone. Lots of turnover. At some point, you just need to move on. But yeah, Bobby V? It felt to me like a choice you make for one year while you make some longer-term moves and figure out who you actually want.

Ah okay, the September collapse, that explains it more. It was definitely a changing of the guard up there this past winter. I was kinda expecting them to go a similar route to the Cubs, Cardinals, and White Sox and name an up-and-comer as the new manager. I thought at one point they were looking at Mike Maddux from the Rangers.

I am very aware of that. But it does not mean I have to like him or that I do not feel that his "former" team has gotten some preferential treatment. But I can't change that. But I am less of a Brewers fan now than I was a few years ago.

But unfortunately, the Brew Crew is a better team right now than my Astros.

Marion County? He went to Brownsburg High School and played on the Brownsburg Little League team that made it to the Little League World Series. He played along side other 'Burg alums Drew Storen (closing pitcher for the Nationals who is currently injured) and Tucker Barnhart (working his way up the Reds organization). He's a HENDRICKS COUNTY BOY!!!!! That makes him even better. As much as I loathe the Cardinals (but I respect them), I follow the boys who played ball here on the West side.

Everyone? If they play North Korea, it's a coin flip as I'm just not sure.

I went off his bio on the Cardinals website. I couldn't remember which town exactly he was from. Apparently, my grandpa worked with his grandpa back in the day and still talks to him quite frequently. While he doesn't follow baseball much anymore, he did watch the World Series last year just because of Lynn.

I didn't know that about Storen. Would that have been the Brownsburg team from around 2002 or 2003? Weren't they the ones who faced Danny Almonte?

Nope. That was a few years before, I think.

The Rockies scored 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth against the Mets, off seven hits and four errors.
