    2. ABC's good or poor coverage plays no role in why people do or don't watch a Indy Car race. Continuing to blame ABC for Indy Car's poor ratings and lack of interest in this country is continuing to blame the wrong people. One day, some people around here will figure that out.

Newsflash for some of you...ABC's coverage of Indy Car races has ALWAYS sucked. Sucked in the 1970's, when Jim McKay and Sam Posey were doing the broadcasts. Sucked in the 80's, when they were more interested in showing Shelley Unser or Chris Mears then the actual race going on. Sucked in the 90's, when Paul Page had no idea who was in what car. Yet, ratings back then were infinitly better then they are now and got numbers that actual sponsors could get a ROI on.

After years of negatives, I'll give this to you: And on a street course no less with your most hated driver winning.

I don't hate Will Power.. I hate Paul Tracy.. I really dislike Dario Franchitti (dates back to his actions in the closing laps of the 2002 Indy 500) but I don't have a issue with Power..

That's been my comment on ratings for a long time, Chris. For at least as long as the Vs contract.

There have been some real increases during the last couple of years, but I'm not sure this one exceeds the typical random deviation.

Can't win an argument in a real sense, might as well resort to third grade tactics, eh? I don't think the granny is a princess, either.

If you call that a tactic, its no wonder why you can't win when being taken to task here on certain subjects. Have a good night

No way it was a .03, that was during the Danica mania.. Please show some proof.. I believe it was 0.5-0.7

The series was in much better shape in 2005 then it is now.. There is no chance that the .03 is correct..

My mistake it was a 0.3
    Still not real stellar.

It was a visually nice looking race.

Lots of great signage around the track, the cars were well turned out, and it's always cool to see the Queen Mary.

Nice of Toyota, too, to run some big boy commercials.

What would be really cool is if races like this were on FOX and viewers were sent to the race at the end of the day's NASCAR event (or vice versa). Now 'ol DW HE can promote!

Final was a .32? Usually the numbers go up instead of down.

I'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has

Final from @NBCSports was .32, up 45 percent from both last year's rating (.22) and viewers. Through 2 races, 0.24 is up 9 percent from .22 -- Jeonna Fryer (@JennaFryer)

    Up 45%, eh? Not bad.

@pressdog A different number, that NBC doesn't use, is they did a .46 in households that have the network. -- Jenna Fryer (@JennaFryer)

I think we'll be shocked with how many apples/oranges numbers we've been trying to compare in the past.
