Fred de Cordova...not sure if he was more famous for being Johnny Carson's Executive Producer on the Tonight Show or for directing Ronald Reagan in "Bedtime For Bonzo"...

BTW, he also worked with George Burns & Gracie Allen, Amos & Andy, Frank Sinatra among many others...

And he and his wife would go on vacations together with their best friends, the Don Rickles's and Bob Newhart's...

After years of fighting and a split, guess what, we are all IndyCar

October will always be a sad racing month for me. RIP Greg and Dan. You both were great and we miss you.

As a long-timer Dodger lover (especially in the 70s), I remember this Fred, who always gave LA trouble.

Fred Merkle, a long ago NY Giants 2nd baseman (Rumor has it that Mr. Fishburger got his autograph at one point) and.....

    King AlFRED The Great

P.S. Mr. Merkle had to wear goats' horns for not touching second base when a game winning hit was made. Cost the Giants a pennant as the......Cubs won.

Wanna know what's wrong with NASCAR? They've gone from Junior Johnson to Jimmie Johnson.

Wanna know what's wrong with IndyCar? It's gone from dirt ovals to street races.

If you're in to the Americana music scene...

You'll know who Fred Eaglesmith is...

    http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...1150.5j2j2.9.0.

He's Canadian, of course, of course, and is a seriously off-the-wall singer songwriter. Lots of cars, trains and aeroplane songs.

Some of my favorites are "Time to Get a Gun", "Freight Train", "Pontiac", "Wilder than Her", "White Trash", "Water in the Fuel' and, of course, "I Shot Your Dog".

And should you ever have a chance to see him live, you best be there!!

I've heard, never seen him. It'll have to wait. There's another relatively big event that weekend in parts south and east. Maybe cheesehead Jeff can go: http://www.parktheaterproject.com/

Old Indiana Pacer fans should remember this name fondly: Freddie Lewis

I like this best for Peter Alliss's commentary...
