Sarah drove car #39 in the 2004 '500', it might be as simple as that.

Tracy won't be there (but I bet you he'll be walking around with a Helmet). Hamilton won't be there.

I wonder if the low number of entries prompt some teams to pull out a car on Bump Day. There are certainly drivers walking around that can put it in the field over the talent that will be fighting for spot #33 now.

At the same time, how does that work with engine leasing? Do you pay for the whole month? Or at that point can Honda/Checy start handing out engines like Candy since all they've got to do is get through Carb day? Will the elevated Firestone prics have an effect?

    Sidenote:

I love how on TF a month ago there was WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH WERE NOT GONNA HAVE 33 AT INDY

and now its, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH WE WONT HAVE 40 AT INDY

The "STFU and wait" approach isn't all that common here is it?

    39 is Clauson's USAC number

39 was also Ryan Newman's USAC number

Seems like it will be hard to qualify a T car without an engine. My understanding is there's a lot more Dallaras than engines.

I miss that car, nice and simple and clean. The Tony the tiger on the nose was a cool touch. It will be nice to have Jordain back. He is getting older, and hasn't been in an Indy car for a while but I think he will surprise a few people that maybe didn't see him because of the split.

he was one of the talent-less hacks that many claim to have made up the 1996 Indianapolis 500 field

Oops, Haha I guess that shows what I wasn't watching that year. He really seemed to hit his stride when he partnered with Rahal, he should have won a few more races then he actually did (Long Beach for sure and I think there were 1 or 2 more as well)

Maybe not talent-less hacks, but, nevermind.

I wonder what Bryan Clauson's sponsors are going to be for the race. He has a notable connection to CURB/Agajanian, who sponsor his sprint car and were also a part of BHA last year at Indy. Wouldn't be surprised to see those names play a big part on the #39 car in May.

Rotondo Weirich will be on the car, one of Clauson's longtime supporters. I'd guess NOS Energy and the Road to Indy would be on there too.

Glad to see that there's a full field +1 for the "500." I think their might be a surprise 35th entry.

Feels weird not to see Dan's name on the entry list.

The more I go over it, the more I think we might see at least 1 more late entry.

Keep in mind with the ECR entry: Fuzzy's sponsored Rice at Panther last year. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Rice or nothing.

There are a couple of drivers with at least some funding currently circling around that ride.

Really happy to see Bryan offically entered into the 500. I love the fact they are using his midget number too.

At the time that car ran we were in splitzville but I always loved that Lola. Such a nice simple design compared to the junk in the trunk Dallara we have now, heck give me a 2nd gen Dallara over the DW12

In equal equipment I'd take Alesi over several over drivers on the list. Then again, the 500 isn't supposed to be about equal equipment, is it?

Back in the day sure, at age 47 and without being in a car this tough in years, N-O.

2 years ago, it was Saavedra and Sato. Instead, TK barely made the race and Paul Tracy didn't.

Nothing is ever certain, be it Clauson, Legge, Simona, or anyone else in the field.
I remember a year ago people on this board saying Dan Wheldon would not make the field so much so when I went to the unveiling of the car in Long Beach I kept thinking TF people are wrong Dan will put this car in the field.

RLR has been plenty fast in their one-offs the past few years.
i have a buddy that works there and i have told him multiple times that i think they will have a pole and a win with sato this year. they are the most surprising team on their early performance as a full time team and with new car/engine.

It's not exactly the Mexican branch of Office Depot Grupo Gigante operates the Office Depots in Mexico as part of a licensing/franchising deal, and apparently has been getting their buts handed to them over the last couple years, having sold off Gigante and all those stores so it's surprising to see them back spending money. If anything it would show that there is still milage in the Jourdain name. Ah, the joys of having a half-Mexican boyfriend.
