Speaking of snow and ice and cold weather, I understand that there is hockey still being played in a number of cities in the USA.

Didn't Indianapolis once have a hockey team in the WHA in the mid-70's called the Racers. I wonder if there was any intentional connection between the team name and any other popular sport in that area.

Second night in a row we've had SERIOUSLY active thunderboomers in the area. It's "batton-down-the-hatches" out there right now.

My favorite recurring Quentin Tarantino movie character is Earl McGraw, played by Michael Parks, who also starred in the short lived TV series 'Then Came Bronson' when I was much younger. He always gets the best lines.

I was an Indianapolis Racer season ticket holder. I actually witnessed Wayne Gretzky's first professional goal!
Those were fun days and yes there was an intentional connection to the Speedway.
    Have a very blessed day!

Didn't Yogi Bear have a summer place there, and didn't he say of Buford " Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded' or am I getting things a little mixed up ? I always found the Hanna-Barbera cartoons a bit repetitive but my favorite character was Huckleberry Hound, who realy became a man after Injun Joe almost caught him in the cave with Becky.

Now she's a tantalizing piece of work, not at all like her daughter Margaret who grew up to become Queen of England and ended up in the Fletcher Memorial Retirement Home in the Falkland Islands or somewhere around that part of Argentina. Wasn't that named for the nurse in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest ?

Why isn't Ron Artest in Jail. Doesn't Buford have a jail?
After years of fighting and a split, guess what, we are all IndyCar

October will always be a sad racing month for me. RIP Greg and Dan. You both were great and we miss you.

What the engine leases have done is create a de facto franchise system with the following caveat. Instead of the series controlling who owns the franchises, the engine "badgers" now do.
Officer Mitchell, I thought you said you didn't want to have to come back here this evening.
