Unfortunate for Luca but a blast from the past in Jourdain. Anything regarding the rest of the season?

Interesting note: Jourdain is confirmed for the #30. RLLR entered the #15 (Sato) and #45. A mistype by PR or an outside shot of a 3rd car?

Vitor is the obvious choice for an Indy one off. Obviously Jourdain brings cash.

Will be good to see Jourdain in an IndyCar.
Now, here is hoping someone puts Junky in a car and he actually gets to drive this year. Poor guy has qualified the last three years only to be screwed on 2 of those years whn he got replaced for cash, last year by AJ "Show Me the Money" Foyt.

After years of fighting and a split, guess what, we are all IndyCar
October will always be a sad racing month for me. RIP Greg and Dan. You both were great and we miss you.
Quite a past blast, same sponsor (Office Depot Mexico) he had in Champ Car.
Wanker!
I'm excited Jourdain is back. He lost several good years when he made the jump to NASCAR and couldn't find the sponsorship to keep going. Give him a practice session or two and he'll be in great shape.
16 years since he raced at the 500 ?

Michel, quite frankly, didn't belong in top-level AOWR when he started out, and though he showed speed at times in the late 90's, he was still only a kid and made too many mistakes. (Though his backmarker teams didn't make him look too good, either).
But, his sponsorship meant he had time to learn, and by the time he joined Rahal in '02, he had developed into a very good driver and a regular contender for race wins. Apparently Rahal wanted him to switch to the IRL with the rest of the team in '04, but Gigante wanted Michel in ChampCar, so he hooked up with RuSport, a move that pretty much wrecked his career momentum. Had Jourdain stayed with RLR, I think there's a good chance it would have been his face on the Borg-Warner Trophy, and not Buddy Rice's. If you'd have asked me in '03-04 who I'd have rated higher of the two, there's no question I'd have said Jourdain.
It'll be interesting to see how he adapts to open-wheel again after being gone so long.
Looks like he's working on it. From Autosport yesterday:
"We are still working on the Indy 500, but it's not going to be easy," Filippi told AUTOSPORT. "But the goal is to make sure that once I jump in a car it is until the end of the season, so I have a proper programme, a proper chance, and not just a one-off.
"I want to race in IndyCar as soon as possible, and the Indy 500 is a dream. I want to do it one day, but it doesn't need to be now."
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security
Anyone know what Jourdain has been driving since?........when? 2003 to 2005 or so?![]()
