"In the land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness...If we speak..we say it the wrong way; if we do not speak we are cowards…."
Driver's say:"It's fine, leave it alone!"
Fan's say:"All they do is race. There ain't no wreckin' and fightin' like I came to see".
Owner says: "Fans put money in my wallet, to hell with what the drivers want".
"Duty is the most sublime word in our language. Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more, you should never wish to do less" - R.E.Lee
And what happens when the fans stop coming next time?
Never before in my life have I heard race fans complain about a track not having only a single groove down on the bottom.
Faster than a bullet from a gun
He is faster than everyone
Quicker than the blinking of an eye
Like a flash you could miss him going by

The fans should be the absolute last people considered on any decision that could effect a participant. Doc Austin
Lying was a no-brainer for me. Robin Miller
"I thought they booed [Danica] because she was being a complete jerk, but then they applauded for A.J. Foyt. Now I'm just confused."
Such a dumb decision.

And, of course, Goodyear will now have to have a tire test - per Jayski's website.
I thought part of the perceived problem with the reconfig was that they took banking out of Bristol in the first place. So to fix it that are going to take out more? Didn't Bristol at one time have 34 or 36 degrees of banking? They’re gonna lose their fastest half mile tag!

Bristol didn't reduce its banking on the last refurb. According to actual measurements, it was approx 26 degrees before the refurb, not the publicized 36 degrees.
Bristol was a one groove track because of an engineering decision/mistake. The top of the banking dropped away very quickly on the exit, so you couldn't drive around the top like a conventional banked track. That's the big change in the most recent repave.

Carl Edwards comments on BMS... or moreso on the cars:
NASCAR hates it when I say this, but I firmly believe that we should not be racing with downforce, sideforce and all these aerodynamic devices. We do not need splitters on the race cars and giant spoilers.
What has happened, in my humble opinion...(is) it is pretty common sense that if all the cars are very similar and all the drivers are really good – which we all think we are – and we are all within a tenth of a second of each other but are relying on this clean air and downforce to make the cars go that speed, then by definition, if the guy in front of you is disturbing the air, then your car is not going to be able to go as fast as it could in clean air.
So why don't we get rid of these aerodynamic devices and race cars on racetracks with tires that are softer? ... That is my opinion on how to make the cars and the drivers able to do more and put it in the drivers' and crew chiefs' hands. I think that is important.
I don't know if that will make more exciting races, but it sure as hell will make a guy able to go up through the field if he has a fast race car, and I think that is exciting.

And yes. HELL yes to all of that!
Im positive Ive said the same thing more than once here on TF.
Get that nose off the pavement and give them a little 1.5 inch spoiler on the back like Cale had.
And maybe narrow up the tire?
NASCAR will never do it though because they would never have 18 winners in one season again.
I can think of 5 or 6 drivers that would split 30 wins between them each year if the cars were a scary a$$ handful again
Ray Evernham says the tires already are too small for the physical weight of the cars. It's a harmless problem at Martinsville, but at Atlanta you'll just be cruising around at whatever speed keeps the tires from popping.
I guess the "banking " is being "sent" to Kansas. Two mistakes will surly help the "bottom line."
