Why wait until after Indy if you're still going to enforce it? IMHO, they should freeze the penalty for Indy then reinstate it for the rest of the season. Or allow a max of say 2 engine changes for Indy before a penalty is incurred.

Keep the dumb, silly rules for the rest of the races, but not Indy.

Enforcing the rule made better racing and a better story with more drama for Long Beach. Enforcing it for Indy might not be so advantageous.

If everybody gets a fresh race engine, everybody would take a 10 spot penalty.

Agree 100% it is Indy, everyone is gonna be chasing for the win. It would make it fair for all the drivers to have a shot at winning the biggest race of their careers.

also, if they want any kind of "month long" activity, they need to let the change engines so they can get the teams to do laps.....

there is the series and then there is Indy. Indy stands alone a special event and has had individual rules. For example 3 abreast....

    It a Indy thing

Dumb question but the only way you go to the back of the field after qualifying is if you write off the tub in a wreck on carb day correct? You Kablammo a motor on carb day you don't go to the back?
I'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has
