Not at all, there are no Americans in the top 5 cars in the series.. Andretti Autosport is not what AGR was in 2004-2007

Or we need Will Power to go to F1, so everyone else has a chance again on 70% of the schedule.

So far, if you aren't driving for the Capn' and his Ilmor owned Chevy engine (which seems to have an extra few gallons then everyone else) you ain't got a prayer of winning a race.

Will Indy be any different? The chance for everyone else is that Power has only won 1 oval race (partially thanks to some goofy rules at Texas last June) and Briscoe's record at Indy is less then impressive. So that could at least open it up to some others. Hopefully it does, at least.

IndyCar should use the Harlem Globetrotters business model.

Hunter-Reay. Rahal. Hildebrand even has a shot this year. If AA was that bad, they wouldn't be in the positions they are right now in points. One thing changed at Barber, Hinch wins. One thing changed at Sao Paulo, Hunter-Reay wins.
I am a fan of the IZOD IndyCar Series, Formula 1, and AMA Supercross in that respective order.

So, if an influx of American talent is not going to increase the popularity of IndyCar and the current path doesn't seem to be the trick, what will...

Less negativity might help . See my Sig.

Unless you can demonstrate that more would.

Not sure that's physically possible, though

I think it WOULD increase the popularity.

I just don't think it's the great savior/magic bullet that some are convinced it is.

Joey Hand isn't gonna move the needle any more than Ed does.

    And both are good guys.

Not even close, but she was significantly better (at Indy and in the final point tally) than Carpenter.

There are obviously numerous factors that goes into Danica's popularity, but she wouldn't have been nearly as popular if she was born in Pippa Mann's or Ana Beatriz's hometown.

I mean, come on, she has a tramp stamp of the American flag!

    Gratuitous mode ON:
