I really like mustard based potato salad. Obviously, I think my mom's is the best. For some reason, I have never made it, yet I really enjoy eating it. I need to do something about that.

My Mom usually smashed up her potatos , Miracle Whip ( I use Helllman's), mustard, sugar for the dressing, celery, onions, sweet pickle for the rest of the ingredients.. yum!

The Wife and I tolerate each other's potato salads. We both think our own is the best (each of them our Grandmother's recipe).
I like large chunks of celery and onion in mine and she puts relish in her's. Her's is better with brats and burgers while mine seems to go well with chicken and bbq'd pork chops (my particular favorite).
My Mom's is the best but I live hundreds of miles away from her so I've gained an appreciation for Publix's Baked Potato Potato Salad since I've been in exile. Sour Cream and Bacon join the party along with the usual celery and onion.
It's funny what Bacon does to things... like make them BETTER!![]()
I love tater salad. Try it with roasted potato wedges instead of just boiling them. Like a loaded baked potato salad. Yes Frank it has bacon!
My Ol' Lady makes her potato salad with some mashed potatoes and some chunks. Celery, Onion, Mustard (not a lot) Miracle Whip and all that, but the one ingredient that sets hers apart from others is her homemade lime pickles.
No Gale's homemade lime pickles....no Gale's Potato Salad.
