    Broadcast idea

As I was listening to Bob and company try to call the race while not actually having control of the feed I thought came to mind. Why not have a contest next year for a fan to call the race. Make it open to track forum members. Base the number entries upon number of user posts. I am sure most of the regular members here could do a better job of knowing the facts of the race watching remotely.

Randy here is an oppurtunity to involve your fans.

Interesting idea, most people on this forum are very knowledgeable. Just one problem, do they have a "broadcast" voice. I'm afraid I'd come off sounding like Danica with the "you knows" and the "ummmm's."

I am totally applying if that is the case! I already work in television for my high school and I would love to call an IndyCar race!

    Make it so Randy!

Same here. I called radio for my high school's basketball team this year, and loved every second of it. Being that I know IndyCar drivers better than players on the other teams it'd be a lot easier. Not sure if that'd help the series a ton with publicity, but count me in if it happens.

I've announced midget races. I know it's ovals, but I'm sure I could do a street course through an interpreter.

We could put a microphone in the Flag Room and let the folks gathered there call the race like we do every week.
    Have a very blessed day!

That's probably the third best idea. First would be doing what they did, second would be like the NFL tried for one game back in the 80's with no announcers just background from the PA. Just because someone posts the most doesn't mean they know what they're talking about or ever have anything to say.
