I think Shank is out of the picture. Seems like the only remaining alternative other than ECR is some kind of Dragon/NHR partnership with Lotus for Howard.

Wanker!
Panther has also been trying to do a deal to run Buddy Rice, so ECR isn't the only Chevy seat potentially available.
My guardian angel, she wears a hard hat.
i cant believe that they are going to Indianapolis with only 33 cars
there is no guarantee that someone like Katherine Legge even has the nerve to do it not even mentioning if they crash one beyond repair
33 isnt enough if they want a full field surely they know this

Some fans claim one series or another runs "real race cars." What's everybody else running, fake race cars?
INDYCAR - NOW IZODIER THAN EVER!

And who's gonna pay for the extra engines beyond what had been agreed to per the contract? You do realize that the manufacturers are taking a loss on each engine, right? The reason why we can even have new/multiple engines is because the cost was lowered for everyone, and for the engines this was done at the sacrifice of the manufacturers' ability to break even. The manufacturers are funding the engine program as part of their marketing campaign--they're not making any money on this.
As for me, I'm just thankful that after through the years of the split and dwindling commercial interest in both series, that some commercial heavy hitters are willing to throw their money at our sport again. Leave it to the "fans" to possible all our that.
So T cars won't have engines? If they did, teams could but that car in the field.
Get your head out of your past!!!
In my opinion, the lack of engines is mainly a responsibility of a manufacturer...the three manufacturers were engaged to provide a maximum of 14 cars each...unfortunately there are those who are able to respect the deal (or more, like Chevrolet, that will provide engines for 15 cars), and who is not...
That's good
Jenna Fryer @JennaFryer Honda has 14 official. That doesn't count the assumed BHA. Lotus has 3. Campbell says 15, Honda is assumed 15. Guess what that equals?

Religion can't save. Jesus can because He loves you!
Have to consider the possibility that both D&R and BHA go Chevy and that's how they get to 15.
Now where that happening doesn't make sense is when you look at going beyond Indy because that would mean 13 Chevy cars and only 10 Honda's (11 if RLR's 2nd car goes full-time). It seems like there's some sort of gentleman's agreement between Chevy and Honda to keep their car counts close.
ECR has enough parties interested to fund Rice but I don't know if they have enough time to get it done.

When asked which race he considered to be the most important to win, Enzo Ferrari would always answer; "The NEXT one."

I think it's no surprise why Shank wasn't taking a Lotus. It looks like he could have very well been 34 and with no track time on the car, they would have struggled.
