Just got off the phone with the ticket office.
The $10 admission fee is if you do not already have a "Public Driver's Meeting Invitation".
If you have it, there's no additional entry fee.

What if you have a Bronze Badge? Do you have to have an invitation?
Have you ever been to Driver's Meeting? Is it worth going to? If anyone can share details I'd really appreciate it. We have a couple coming over from the UK for their first 500 and we're trying to decide what to put on the schedule for Saturday morning.
The Bronze Badges say good May 12-26...so it should cover Saturday admission.

Drivers meeting is a great time...you get to see all of the drivers sitting in bleachers on pitlane facing the crowd. I went last year and there was a good crowd there.
I have a video of last year's entire meeting somewhere...

Thank you for the responses. We'll be there all day Friday but it sounds like we need to plan on coming back Saturday morning.
I haven't missed the public driver's meeting in years. The drivers sit in bleachers with celebrities nearby. Very easy to see the drivers in casual attire--they receive awards for last year's participation, etc. Remarks are made by officials (not very long) You might want to bring binoculors for close viewing. Immediately following the drivers' meeting, they board buses to head downtown for the parade. Not alot going on in gasoline alley but it is open. I wouldn't miss this event for anything. Thousands attend, so get there early to get a spot in front of the bleachers.
