That's an interesting and neat thought. Not sure if I was Jay Howard that I'd be cool with this *getting a Lotus vs the slim chance of a Chevy), but it gets his sponsors into the race. And it gets Bourdais a competative ride once this season.

Good! I was hoping that was not the case!

I keep thinking of the entries associated with a certain manufacturer and this rumor really has me scratching me head.

    So....
    Maybe its kooky even contrary?

Just a message everyone sees justly?

    Does anyone really interest others?

It's not Oriel. D and R is changing it's name to Panther DRR and aligning with Panther for (I guess) the remainder of the season. They are definitely staying with Oriel.

Interesting, because he was the only one of that group that I don't care to see at Indy.

My first thought was Bourdais because he doesn't want to look pitiful at Indy.

I may be wrong but I'm thinking it's Wilson. He doesn't bring sponsor money, and he hasn't really done much at Indy. Maybe a one-off driver for Indy then Wilson back for rest of year?

I'm honestly looking at Honda & Chevrolet to start knocking out the One-Offs to feed their full time teams with Engines.

For those who need to be worried are:

    Wade Cunningham
    Sebastian Savaadra
    Ana Beatriz

Maybe Honda and Chevy will entice them to run at other races outside of Indy to ensure engine quantities just like SSM told Cunningham last year.

Hmm. Dragon dropping Lotus. Dragon presumably having one Chevy lined up for one driver. Somebody possibly getting kicked from a current ride.
So, maybe that's where the second Dragon driver ends up???
I'm from a place called the internet. Nothing disturbs me.

All this guessing who the driver is is nonsense. So many of you are just randomly throwing out names.

No one is going to get fired. Budgets are set and teams simply don't gas anyone mid-season based on performance any longer. It's not the 90's anymore where budgets were big enough to hire whomever they want on a whim.

If someone is leaving, it's either a personal dispute with a team, their sponsor check didn't clear, or there is no longer an engine available for them.

Right now, it sounds as if it were resolved. It was a very real possibility, though....

Original post did not mention a driver leaving a team. Hamilton's tweet just reaffirmed that there are no spare engines from someone truly on the inside.
How come nobodies asked about Art Sugai's car?
Probably can't recognize the driver! Rick Mears

I heard something from an insider this morning....China....seems many teams think that there is not going to be a race in China! This doesn't come as a surprise to me, but hearing it from the person I heard it from, it was a surprise to me!

And no, I'm not saying who, and I'm not meaning this as a discussion point....just something I heard from a PR type person with longtime connections to the series.
