Lusitania belonged to Cunard, not White Star.
Titanic's White Star sister ship Britannic was sunk the next year, by either a mine or a torpedo, depending on who you ask.
Cunard's ships of that era were the ones that ended in "-ia" and White Stars were "-ic." Cunard: Lusitania, Carpathia, Mauretania, Aquatania (a beauty of a ship that served in both world wars), etc. White Star: Titanic, Olympic, Britannic, Oceanic, Germanic, etc.

The loss of civilian life was tragic ... just pawns in the game of brinksmanship. It wasn't really reasonable to expect to be granted immunity from supplying someone's enemy...

I remember posting a memorial thread in another forum, and being pretty much lombasted saying that no one should have sympathy for those who died. *Sigh.*
Regardless, may they rest in peace.
