    Milwaukee Seating

I am planning to buy 2 tickets to the Milwaukee race, probably this week. Are there any particular seats that are better at Milwaukee, or any sections to avoid?

    Thanks in advance.

To tell the truth, the times I have been in the new seats, there were a lot of empty spaces all around. Which means if you don't like your seats, find better ones.

    Canth,

I only have experience with the turn 4 and turn 1 bleachers. I like to sit in turn one as high up in the stands as I can get (2nd row from top this year) and not be so far around the turn that I can't see the pit action. Section CC. Same with turn 4. As high up as I can get and far enough around to see the pits. Can't say about the main grandstand.

Main grandstand is good for seeing pit activity, pre race etc... I would get section 200 or higher if you want to see the whole track. We were at the top of section 200 last year and we could see 98% of the track

Top rows of 200 and bleachers are usually sufficient to see most of the track. Half way up in 300 and all of 400 will give you a view of everything, keep in mind there will be alot more things in the infield blocking views this year, a stage and rides.

Personally I'm in north bleachers this year, those tickets are a steal at $19 and I can get a bunch more people to come along, up to 10 so far. I'll sacrafice some of the view for a larger group.

I've been at the top of the turn 1 bleachers and they're OK. The 200 on the main would be the lowest I'd go.

When you do buy the tickets could you make note and maybe post what number your order is. That would give some idea of how many orders they processed, not really tickets sold. Though it's not going to be 1 or 20 for most orders, more like 2-6. . I ordered the first day and had #119. Hopefully they have filled some substantial number of orders by now.

Well, I ordered 2 General admission tickets for Friday and 2 Grandstand seats for Saturday. I picked about halfway up in the 300 level just past the start finish line. Hopefully, those will be good. My ticket order number was #1741.

Here is the view from section 301 last year; you could see all the way around the track from the 300's; couple small spots on backstretch were just barely obstructed by the transporters parked in the infield. I was very happy with the view from the 300's

By the way, I recommend renting a scanner at Milwaukee; the radio reception for the AM channel in Milwaukee that was broadcasting the race was very weak and static-y and hard to pick up in the stands at the track.

Oh, I go to Indy and Iowa every year. So, I already own a couple of scanners. I will just be purchasing and downloading frequency stuff like I normally do for those races.

Thank you and you should be in a very good location.

A month before the race I'm going to say the order number is a concern. Now Andretti held back some tickets for his sponsors which weren't even available on day 1. But with 1750 orders you'd have to have orders averaging 10 tickets per to get close to a half full grandstand. That's more than fantasy and don't act like the walkup crowd is bigger than the pre sale. I hope Michael starts advertising and in a big way soon.

I've been tracking the sales on the website since tickets went on sale. There were about 1,000 tickets that were "unavailable" right from day one. I would presume those are being held for sponsors and so forth. Since then, approximately 6,358 additional seats have become "unavailable". So you're looking at about 6,358 tickets sold to date. That's not terrible considering there has been no advertising until recently.

That said, banner ads have started to roll out on local media websites such as JSonline. In addition, I've seen some paid Google ads popping up as well. On the TV front, Ryan Briscoe was in town today doing the media blitz with all of the Milwaukee TV networks. Andretti recently tweeted that TV ads would start in the Milwaukee area very soon.

Marcus Hotels is hosting a huge block party in downtown Milwaukee on Thursday, June 14. The block party will feature live music by The Toys (a local band with a HUGE following). The block party will also feature a car show, House of Harley-Davidson parade, Indy race car driver appearances, food trucks, beer stations and more. The block party will be the big push to fill the grandstands with locals.

Pretty much anywhere from halfway up or higher is good.
