Imagine the OP's over-reaction had Alesi splattered the wall on his third lap......
Today was likely installation laps for the team & Alesi. They still have time to complete the phases. You cant possibly be that bad (186?), you would actually have to TRY to be that horrible. So I dont believe thats the case. I still think both will embarrass themselves but not in this instance, shaking down the car not worrying about speed. We'll see as the week goes on.
My words may not be what you want to hear.....but what you need to hear. TF CHALLENGE: CONVINCE 1 NEW PERSON TO WATCH INDY NEXT SUNDAY
As I stated in another thread, the team didn't fire the Lotus for the first time until 10:30 last night.
I wish them well!
Have a very blessed day!

FFU's update from their facebook page:
Starting with a mere tub, The Lotus Fan Force United Dallara DW12 was built and assembled in approximately 47 hours by a very dedicated, hard working crew! Today's rookie test and shake down went quite well. A few fairly routine fixes are in store for this afternoon and evening. Jean is getting comfortable with the track and his rookie test will continue on Friday. One step at a time, this driver and race team are getting closer to Month of May success! Spread the word!!

I just have John on the phone at the moment. The first day went well and it was more a "décrassage" in the search for pure performance. Jean must roll tomorrow after noon. The team is composed of "old his" and I quote Jean "now that I have driven here, I just lived my life of pilot". Pilotage is far from being simple and monotonous as might be expected, but it is a permanent search of the ideal path. Side mechanics, a few small unexpected but nothing insurmountable. After many rumors and guesswork on its participation, Jean is present and motivated as ever. (Translated by Bing)

I have gas and could not get comfortable in LeCar. The odour was foul and I could not concentrate on kissing the line.
The french chef who is designated to pour olive oil into the engine was missing and the pig americans used actual motor oil to lubricate the car.
The rumors of undrinkable California aperetifs are true and I cant wait to complete this comic effort and leave this horrible country (Translated by SWAG)![]()
...Always follow the money
Question
What's to stop FFU from putting Alesi in their Lights car during Lights testing tomorrow to get used to the track at a bit lower speed? If I was the team owner that's what I'd be doing.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security
"The series may be hesitant to say it, but the day is here for everybody that loves IndyCar racing to link arms and help each other out. Anybody who doesn’t want to do that needs to find something else to do with their time.”
