Nothing about Briscoe's pole win on Yahoo, ESPN, CBSS, SI, or NBCS (ok, now there is)

SI has an AP story about Helio being fastest in practice and the NBC Sports site has a video of one of the crashes.

Might be time to move Pole Day because I don't see how they can compete for eyeballs with all that happened today (Preakness, Champions League Final, NASCAR All-Star race, NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs, MLB interleague rivalry games).

They had to go into a total rewrite... they were all set to go with "When is Roger Penske gonna wise up and unload this untalented boat anchor he has driving the #2 car?"
"Ride The Barrel & Get Pitted... So Pitted."

I don't know how many times I've seen this garbage on TF over the years. Sports are on 363 days a year. Indycar has to compete with other major sports to do well. And it has to compete well to have a future. Let's hope things grow.

I am fortunate enough to get the NBC Sports Network and it was an exciting day of qualifying.

It absolutely matters what other programming you are going up against when trying to attract viewers. Fro's post was looking for ways to increase viewership. Hardly "garbage" in my mind. What would you do to increase viewership? Ernest

Interview with Briscoe and film of two crashes by anonymous drivers, at least I don't think they mentioned their names I had just gotten home, on the WGN news at 9. And I'll tell you considering it is the Cubs Sox weekend and the NATO Summit I consider it a big deal that Dave Eanet had that on because there wasn't much time left for sports. ABC at 10 mentioned that Briscoe won the pole and Johnson all start race.

Mainstream coverage is no longer possible unless someone dies. That is just the reality. The relatively youthful people who run these outlets have no clue whatsoever about IndyCar. Except when someone dies.

My local newspaper had a nice article in the Sunday sports section covering Pole Day activities, but today's sports section didn't mention a word about Bump day because there was no bumping. If nothing is going on then nothing is worth reporting.

I am shocked I have not seen much about 3 ladies in the field!
The reality is the numbers are dropping yet you call the deal 'ahead of its time'. The only end result that can be drerived from that is the series will be broke 'ahead of its time'.

Elton Alexander had decent sized articles in the sports section ( Plain Dealer) Also I've seen on twitter that the drivers are spread out over a lot of national programs this morning.
I'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has
