Investing in one of those fancy cooling shirts the guys in CART used to wear this year...do drivers still wear those things?

IIRC, your favorite seats are in the uncovered sections of E Stand.

    Enjoy!

I suffered in the 93 degree heat at Indy but when I got home it was 93 and comfortable but then this is a dry heat.
All roads lead to Indy except for State Road 39 which goes to Martinsville.

According to the movie Back To The Future, weren't we supposed to be able to control the weather by now?

Yeah, I've heard all about that dry heat. Actually the 2011 500 was a lot more miserable even though it was almost 1 degree cooler. The humidity last year was brutal.

Once the drought kicked in, we got some of that there dry heat right here in Ioway. 103-105° with 17-18% humidity. You could breath it but it still felt hot. Normally that level of heat in the Midwest feels like a sauna. This year it felt like a pizza oven.

    Dry heat rules!

You really dont notice the heat until it gets over 105 or so.

92 is a good day for a streunous hike in the mountains in a dry heat .

Meanwhile 82 is too hot to cut the lawn here in South Carolina if the humidity is on the high end

That being said, 116 in a dry heat is still rough!

I was dreading race day this yeat but once I got to my seat I was pleased to find a wonderful breeze blowing right in my face and Sunday turned out to be the most pleasant day of the week

so was '12 a record or not for the 500?

it seems like right after the race they said it didn't break the 1939(?) heat record and then later someplace else I read that it did
