    Howard Dolan

Sad site this past Saturday at the USAC inaugural Hall of Fame Class, and I instantly thought you could have played in an assist role.

Several of the Inductees have passed, and had family members were there to accept the award such as Tom Binford Jr and Eleanor Vogler.

There was one driver that had no one to stand and accept his award and it was a sad site.

Had you been there you could have said a few proud words and accepted the award for your Hero Jimmy Bryan...

What irks me (maybe its too soon for the truth), DW was a 16-oval WIN specialist, yet the vast majority those boohooing for him, hardcarders & fans, alike are the same ones trying to kill anything with more than 9 deg banking & 4 corners, where Dan ultimately made his home...

If that doesn't illustrate the sorry state of affairs, nothing does.

Len Gasper and Phil Sampaio should both have been there. Or seen to it that someone was.

Kinda reminds me of when Jeff Gordon was inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame, and due to a commitment at Daytona THE FOLLOWING DAY couldn't appear in person. I lost a lot of respect for him on that one. Surprised that no one, anywhere, could have been contacted, and/or found, to accept for Bryan. Someone not doing their job, maybe?

I thought his daughter was supposed to be there to accept the award?

Thanks Gator...I guess Bryan's affiliation with USAC condemns him to obscurity...at least it does here...Danica, Stewart and other Cup drivers are mentioned with frequency on the IndyCar forum...seems strange that a thread about a former winner would be moved...

"I thought his daughter was supposed to be there to accept the award?"

His daughter is still alive isn't she...

    Go Jim Bryan...

The thing that bothers me most is that someone told me there was a distinct lack of advance promotion on the part of both USAC and the track.

It was moved because I suggested it so you could respond.

There are a few forums here that you cannot post in. I had it moved to one that you can because the post is directed to you.

And it also kills your theory that Byant is somehow looked down upon unlike Stewart and Danica.

LOL, and he has over 4,600 posts, too. Like ThomPson instead of Thomson.
