New DVD "The Golden Era to War Indianapolis 1925-1941"
Our newest DVD, “The Golden Era to War Indianapolis 1925-1941,” should be available this weekend at the Memorabilia show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Saturday behind the Pagoda. I was told by our replicators that the DVD’s will be delivered on Friday.
Following is a synopsis of what is on the DVD:
It is a two disc set:
Disc one-Feature-approximately 121 minutes in length
This disc features home movies shot of the Indianapolis 500 from 1925-1941. It includes footage of every year in this time span. We have also included a few pictures as well. The DVD includes footage of Amilia Earhart in 1935 and rare color film from 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, and 1940. This is real color footage and not colorized.

1925: six minutes and one second-B/W
1926: six minutes and 11 seconds-B/W
1927: three minutes and 17 seconds-B/W
1928: three minutes and 38 seconds-B/W
1929: 13 minutes and 19 seconds-B/W
1930: nine minutes and 18 seconds-B/W
1931: one minute and 39 seconds-B/W
1932: 4 minutes and 16 seconds-B/W
1933: 11 minutes and 21 seconds-B/W
1934: seven minutes and 8 seconds-B/W
1935: seven minutes and 31 seconds-B/W
1936: 17 minutes and 34 seconds-Color-B/W
1937: 13 minutes and 40 seconds-Color-B/W
1938: nine minutes and 57 seconds-Color-B/W
1939: three minutes and 24 seconds-Color-B/W
1940: five minutes and 18 seconds-Color-B/W
1941: one minute and 33 seconds-Color (pictures)-B/W (film)
Disc two-Bonus material-approximately 40 minutes in length and includes (All filmed at the Speedway except Harry Miller shop and building of the Sampson):
1926 (?) air race: three minutes and 35 seconds-B/W
Harry Miller workshop: one minute and 20 seconds-B/W
1928 Hispano-Suiza Stutz race: five minutes and 10 seconds-B/W
1929 Louis Meyer test: 54 seconds-B/W
1935 Waukesha Hemphill Schools Comet: two minutes and 16 seconds-B/W
1935 color footage: one minute and 58 seconds-Color (this footage was converted to B/W in feature) Only reds show with hints of blue and green.
1939 Building of the Sampson 16 Special: 26 minutes and 21 seconds-Color
The cost of the DVD will be 40 dollars (Tax will be charged in Indiana)
