I read this last night and thought it was a good article. The drivers want to be here and work with the series to make it popular.
I'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has

Sounds about right. I think they botched a quote.... probably best kept "secret", not "series".

I like Justin's idea the best because that's the same one I've been touting for over two years. The start times need to stay the same. I really like the 11:00am Sunday start time. The fans need to know when they can tune in and find a Indy race. Ernest

Good article. Lays out the present reality without embellishment and some good ideas to change that.

It also makes the point that for things to grow, things do need to change.

I find it very strange that only five people bothered to respond to a very good article. No one is interested in what the drivers have to say? Dez, you should try to post this in the Indy Forum. Ernest

Not really that much to read there. A standard start time is really no big deal. Especially in a country with 4 time zones. And about the last thing Indycar needs is to rely on a NASCAR star for popularity. Besides I do not think there is any who could cut it.

And speed? It is the first year of the new formula.I think speeds will creep up each year.

Do you always make it a habit to post on something you find uninteresting? What could be more uninteresting than that? Ernest

I saw a thread title that said to read the article. So I did and gave my opinion.

Drivers lack the ability to think outside the box, film at 11.

NFL seems to handle four time zones just fine. Why can't IndyCar?

Anyone who thinks the top drivers in any major formula can't compete in IndyCar with the right team just aren't paying attention to other types of racing.

Speeds don't need to go any higher. The great Indy 500 today proves that.

The drivers know what they are talking about and we should listen to their ideas for the sport. Ernest

You may not think the speeds need to go higher but threy will creep back up until Indycar decides that is enough. Most of the race lap speeds today were in the 216-218 range. Next year with what I think will be more boost I would think the speeds will be 220-222.
