Who is still at the Mile tonight?

I saw Hitokari earlier, sorry Hit, I wasn't close enough to yell!

Watching the bands, maybe 150 still here...too bad, Michael A and Randy serving as music judges. I had a great day, kinda poor crowd, but I had a blast!

Drummer from BOC introduced as a judge...."More Cowbell" immediately shouted!

I stopped by after doing some business in Milwaukee...cool venue, crowd thin....watched qualifications and smelled the burned alcohol. Very cool to be at the oldest racetrack in the USA. Milwaukee is a nice town too.. impressed by the area.

Had a great day at The Mile and thanks to Michael Andretti, but ...

it was clearly a mistake to charge so much today for infield admission. The grandstands were free and there was plenty of action on the track so that was the place to be. Grandstand crowd was pretty good for Indycar quals and Lights race. The grandstand atmosphere was also good but there appeared to be very few in the infield. They should have granted free infield admission today to race ticketholders, as they will tomorrow. Regardless, a great day and they are very close to making this a great event. They just need a few tweaks to make Friday at The Mile equal to Carb Day at Indy. Then this thing will really take off! I hope the fans turn out tomorrow because Michael deserves a return on what he's done here!

At this point, I'm just waiting for it to crash and burn so we can start over, the sooner the better -- it can't get much worse, and there's hope as long as there is a month of May.

I am home basking in air conditioning. I am burnt to a crisp. I'll see y'all tomorrow. If you see a guy in a polo shirt, Cubs hat, and holding a stop watch that's me.

    Thumbs up

Just got checked in where I'm staying, I was there from 7AM on this morning. Have to leave sometime?

Still a chance for anyone reading this to come to a well run event. Andretti and the infield and fan experience, should be a hit. Everything is fan friendly.

Now a good race, continued good weather, some attendance and it's a home run.

I think we will have 22 to 24 thousand tomorrow which should be good to bring it back
I'm gonna wiggle it at 'em, you cheap b@st@rd. Be prepared, because when I yank it out, everybody in that audience except my wife is gonna be runnin' for the exits.

If they get that, it'd be about double last year's attendance.

We had dinner at El Beso Mexican Restaurant. Really delicious food.

curious, what tweaks would turn it into another Carb Day?

They need to get more 20--35 somethings (maybe the 40s too) to take Friday afternoon off work and hit the track for racing, beer, sunshine, and a concert. I'd suggest $5 infield admission and free infield admission to race ticketholders. It's a beautiful facility -- a party waiting to happen! Just gotta convince a few of the youngers and it will take off.

If you get a chance got to Crawdadys 10 to 15 min east of the track on Greenfield. Mainly seafood but they have everything and the food is fantastic. Little pricey. Paulie's is outstanding for a pub food and they host a live radio racing show called Racing Round Up every tuesday night hosted by Jim Tretow (track annouces the NASCAR races at Daytona & Phoenix) a real profressional at his craft

Not there tonight. I'm working my part time gig at the Legendary Great Lakes Dragway for some good old fashion Friday night straightline fever

Actually that resturant use to host the Racing Round Up show up until three to four years ago when it was called Monreals El Madator Lounge about 3 to 5 times a season an unkonown ASA driver use to come and make small talk with the people at out table. He was an ASA driver and a really nice guy. His name. Mr 5 time himself Jimmy Johnson

I was at the Battle of the Bands right up until the end. I actually got out of the gate and stood off to the side and did a head count as people left... Only about a 100 people there until the end. On the flip side, I had a chance to talk to Michael Andretti for a bit and he sounded positive about the weekend despite the relatively thin crowd in the infield. He seemed very realistic about the fact that it's going to take 2 or 3 years to build the event up, but was very pointed when he said that we need to find a way to get people to buy tickets. Good conversation though...

Well what do you know rain likely today..Ive been saying all week with indycars luck there was no way it wouldn't rain, thus killing attendance...Go figure wake up and now rain likely
