    Why ruin every race

With extended cautions for street sweepers.

These stupid hinges have completed more miles during this years races than Lotus.

It is 11:30 on the east coast. Every yellow lap is an excuse to fall asleep. You've got 250 laps of product. There is no excuse to spend a single one under caution if the track is clear to race.

It's a Saturday night.. The races go by too quick anyway.. I rather have the marbles off the track so the drivers can use all the track..

I agree 100%. What's next, stopping a long green flag run to sweep it?

It injects 10 minutes of boredom into most races.

I vote for more lanes of racing. Go sweep crew!

Im down with the sweep crew, id rather have clean 2 wide racing then the higher lined car being sent into the safer barrier on every restart

And we have seen how good the racing is when there is only one lane available.

I would equate it with dirt short track officials staying yellow and having the field drive thru the puddle where someones radiator let go.

It helps the show but is also sort of a safety issue

Burn a lap for the street sweeper and possibly prevent a long yellow

The other question is, why hasn't sweeper technology advanced from the 1950's? You would think somebody would have come up with something new.

But this goes along with the greewhitecheckered issue. If you are even entertaining what the fans want, they don't want longer cautions for the sweepers but they want a clean track. What about not counting the sweeper laps and make each caution period count for 5 laps. That way teams can keep track of how many times they go around but with the knowledge that only 5 of those laps will count towards the finish so they can adjust their fuel calculations. They know they went around10 laps under yellow but it only took 5 laps off the race distance so they may or may not need to get more fuel to finish.

I would much rather see more green flag racing and not lose as many during the sweeping than see a manipulated green finish.

We need tires that don't marble. Then there's no need for sweeping.

The disposable 20 minute tire era has got to come to an end.

It's too bad most of the excitement in so many series is related to tire wear.

I don't mind it on ovals, but it's absurd to do it on road/street courses.

    I tend to agree.
