Exclamation Grand-Am Indy Race Party - July 27th

Race fans, I'm helping to promote a Road Race Party at IMS for the Grand Am race July 27th. This will benefit the American Heart Association. Details follow along with contact information of the lead person on this. Feel free to contact me as well and I'll be happy to get you answers.

Thank you to TF management for helping us to promote this event!

GRAND-AM INDY RACE PARTY JULY 27

Rolex road racer John McCutchen is also an officer in our construction firm based in our Dallas office. John recently piloted the Texas Heart Institute / GoPro Porsche to a solid run at the Daytona 24 hour with co-driver Davey Jones from Indycar.

John's team is Godstone Ranch Motorsports, founded by his wife Karen, who's mission is to raise awareness and funding for the Texas Heart Institute.

One of the race weekend activities they support and promote is their "Pit Party" program.
In essence, a group, such as our Midwest Sportscar Club and our local Indy Cars and Coffee groups can arrange, organize, host and manage invites to our own pit party in conjunction with the race weekend. Via donations, charging admission, silent auctions, tee shirt sales or anything else we dream up (well maybe not anything) funds collected are then donated to the Heart Institute. Drivers and celebrities from our team and others will join our party.

For the upcoming Indy race, Godstone Racing has partnered with Gusipi Risi and Risi Competizione based out of Ferrari of Houston and John will be driving the new FERRARI 458 #62 GT class car. This combination has an excellent chance to produce a front running podium effort.

The series comes to Indianapolis Motor Speedway to run the road course on Friday July 27 before the Brickyard 400. They are also here in early July for a test session.

I am checking to see if any race fans here would like to join us in our Tower Terrace Hospitality Suite for a high quality Fundraising Event organized by Hunt Construction Group and Midwest Sportscar Club and enjoy a great day of racing activities. Admission to the event is $150 per person, of which $70 will be tax deductible as the donation portion that will be presented to the American Heart Association. Please visit www.godstoneranchmotorsports.com and look them up on FB. Godstone is a 501 (C) (3) organization.

Includes: entrance to the track, access to the luxury suite, garage/pit passes, driver meet & greets and lunch. We are working on finalizing a car corral for parking.

We have a Tower Terrace Suite all day, so you can come and go as your schedule permits and see practice, for Rolex, Continental, Quals for both and both series races. The main race starts just after 4pm. The suite is located at the braking zone for Turn 1. The balcony off the back allows views of the infield portion of the track.

This would make both a car guy day or a corporate outing if you have clients that you would like to entertain. We have catered lunch included, and are working on a car corral for our attendees who wish to bring a special car.

Please let me know if you are interested in joining us for this great event.

    Bill Sewall
    Bsewall (at) huntconstructiongroup (dot) com
    317-777-9544

Corporate donations, in addition to the entry fee, are appreciated.
If your corporation is interested in sponsorship of the #62, please let us know. Space is available on the car for this race.

John will be driving the #62 Ferrari 458 in the GT class.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be misquoted and used against you.

Here is an interesting piece of history about Godstone team driver Davy Jones.

This is the first time ever the American Heart Association has placed their livery on a race car, so no one wants it to be less than a great show.

IF all things go as planned, we have planned for SPEED TV to visit our event and make a human interest story about the charity aspect, and there will be a big media blitz press release right before our party date about the AHA and Risi Ferrari teaming up.

This event will definitely happen, but there may be a hick-up with the 458 being fielded due to a parts issue waiting to be resolved. We have our fingers crossed the issue can be resolved, but its looking slim at the moment.

Godstone Ranch team WILL be there along with other drivers for the meet-n-greet.

I'll update as info comes my way.

Thanks Mark for the PR work! This will be a great way to enjoy the races, esp if it stays around 100 degrees all summer!

The field sure is mixed up this season. Camaro wins GT this weekend in Watkins Glen beating BMW and Ferrari to the line. Also the best DP battles with the Corvettes. See the highlites at www.Grand-am.com and get ready for INDY.

Everyone, this is the guy behind this AWESOME event! Avid Race & all around car guy too!

If you head over to the IndyCar forum, TF Mgmt was gracious enough to put a sticky there too!

    Baker57...Thank you for the support!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd be willing to put money on that #90 Corvette DP to win again. And so that's with me not being a betting guy. Saw them run live at Barber this year. Just walked away from everyone. Might have to sneak over to see practice at IMS tomorrow before it gets too hot.

We have an original hand colored picture of Davy and the Bud Light Group C Jag, taken in the 90’s by noted IMSA official sports photog, James McKinnis. Jim donated it to Godstone. We plan to sell $10 raffle tickets and give it away with Davy there to autograph it for the winner.

Free concert at the track when the race ends at 7:15 pm courtesy of PRS Guitars. PRS is also supporting our suite event, more details soon.

    http://grand-am.com/News/GA_News/tab...cid=6383&sid=1

STEVENSVILLE, Md. July 2, 2012 – As PRS Guitars’ third straight year of partnership with GRAND-AM Road Racing continues, there are more trophies, more Guitar Center Fan Days, more Race to the Stage Auditions and more concerts to enjoy. This marks the second year that PRS is providing race winners in both the Rolex Sports Car Series classes with a unique trophy – a fully functional PRS SE Singlecut customized with GRAND-AM and Rolex Sports Car Series logos.

To support this partnership and work to connect the music and racing worlds in new and exciting ways, PRS is hitting the road for a series of Guitar Center events and race-day concerts with stops at Guitar Center Indianapolis and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

On July 14, PRS, In Tune Monthly magazine, and Guitar Center will host a pre-race Guitar Center PRS Fan Day at Guitar Center Indianapolis. This event offers players unique opportunities, including free setups on their PRS guitars, meetings with product specialists from PRS’s Maryland factory, in-depth product demonstrations, and the chance to check out a GRAND-AM racecar up close. During the event fans will also be able to see – and even purchase – replica PRS/GRAND-AM trophy guitars exclusively at Guitar Center.

But perhaps the most exciting element of the day will be the “Race to the Stage” auditions. Hosted by In Tune Monthly, the publication for music students and teachers in grades 7-12, “Race to the Stage” awards a PRS SE guitar and SE amplifier to the winning player and gives one area high school musician the opportunity to win the chance to perform live on July 27, 2012 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard Grand Prix. There, the lucky winner will play with British-blues phenom Davy Knowles. If you will be at the race, be sure to go to the Coke Stage located in Pagoda Plaza when the race ends at 7:15 p.m.) to see this FREE concert.

    Indianapolis events:

    - July 14 Guitar Center PRS Fan Day at Indianapolis Guitar Center, 8475 Castleton Corner Drive Indianapolis, Ind. 46250

    - July 27 Kroger Super Weekend at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway featuring Davy Knowles on the Coke Stage and a special appearance from the In Tune Race to the Stage Winner after the Brickyard Grand Prix

For “In Tune Race to the Stage” audition details and Official Rules, please visit: www.intunemonthly.com/racetothestage.

Be sure to connect with PRS Guitars to follow the season: www.prsguitars.com, www.prsracing.net, www.facebook.com/prsguitars, and www.twitter.com/prsguitars.

Met the President of PRS Guitars today. They are excited to be joining us in the suite. He said he'll bring a few amps and guitars so anyone that wants to play can. He will have Davy Knowles, who is playing the concert afterwards, stop by the suite to meet-n-greet too.

We'll keep working to make this a great event. Hope you can make it!

    Hot Pit Passes available!

Your suite tickets include garage tour passes, however Godstone is making available to us a limited number of hot pit passes in case anyone has interest in purchasing one. This would require an additional $200 if you are intersted in getting one. This allow you to be in a team's pit box during the actual race. They are not transferable unfortunately due to liability, so we can't circulate one amoung the attendees, but are person specific.

They are pretty pricey, but not available to the general public and would make for a great experience. With that purchase you will also get a 1 year membership to the Grand-Am racing association. Let Bill know if anyone is interested in securing one of these hot pit passes.

86 names on the list as of today, so if you are on the fence please sign up. 100 spots avail.

The post concert headliner Davy Knowles will be hanging with us courtesy of PRS guitars, and they will have some guitars and amps sent to our suite so that anyone so inclined can knock around on them and maybe we can coax Davy in to doing some stuff. I know we have a few musicians in the gang, including McCutchen who plays his guitar in Dallas area blues scene.

We are getting close on available tickets with about 10-12 left.

I understand there will be some NASCAR drivers visiting the suite to meet-n-greet. I just don't know which ones.

Davy Jones bio. Don't forget he'll be one of our special guests in the suite. If you have old photos or memorabilia it would be a good chance to get some autographs.

Purchased a 10 extra tickets yesterday, just in case someone wanted in at the last minute. There are a few of those left.

Weather forecast is a high in the mid 80's. Its going to be a great day to be at the track.

    120 Tickets SOLD!

What started out as a simple discussion, just a few short weeks ago, about doing a fun event for a few friends and benefiting a charity at the same time has really snowballed into something bigger. Participants are coming from all over and I'm not talking just about metro-Indy.

At this point, if you are interested, let us know and we can put you on stand-by in case someone is not able to make it. Since we have maxed our capacity, this event is now officially....

    SOLD OUT!

New TF member SMS is the guy that carried the heavy lifting on this. Great guy & solid person in real life. He is what I refer to as "Good People". Thanks to him for all his hard work!

(SMS..I'll be sending you the invoice for the kind words I posted above. )

Check is in the mail, Mark.

Thanks for your help getting the word out here and at Indy Cars and Coffee. We had positive results from both places.

This has been a textbook total team effort. Now we just have to make Friday live up to the expectations we set.
