Gee, maybe because IndyCar hasn't learned how to deal with flake track owners yet? (After all these years?)

I fail to see where the track owners are fake. It seems to me it is the other way around in this issue.

So we're not going to get a 16th race. We never knew what a plan B was or even if plan B included a replacement for China.

All in all, we're out a Street race in China. Yeah, I'm really shook up about that.

The China situation never should have gotten to the point it did. That's where the whole problem stems from.

In that it shouldn't have been scheduled in the first place? Or something else?

BTW: The DFP article specifically says the sides had NOT agreed on financial terms, yet Curtis acts like it was almost a done deal.

Plan B was to make Cali a 500 miler - as already mentioned.

Interesting that Curtis' statement regarding Randy is eerily similar to the statements made by the guy who runs Phoenix from earlier this year (or was it last year). Randy was all over the place in the media talking about how he wanted to go back to Phoenix and there were talks but then the Phoenix track president comes out and says Randy had never talked to him. Most of TrackForum took Randy's side and started bad mouthing the Phoenix President but I think later it came out his statements were accurate.

It seems as though Randy is developing a pattern and unfortunately not in a good way.

Why should he suck up to them? It's the fans he should be concerned about. The track owners aren't going to think more of less of him than the number of fans he brings to them. He's not going to get a single break or an ounce of cooperation because they think he's swell.

Heck, if this Michigan dealy proves anything, the track owners and he are kindred spirits. Of COURSE they hate each other's guts.
