If anyone is looking for a smaller, more arcade version of IndyCar racing, may I suggest GeneRally, a top-down, fully editable racer made by a couple of Finnish guys several years ago. It includes a track editor in the download, and has community-made tools available for car making. The total folder size is less than 2 megs as well! All of the cars are limited to 30 vertices and 40 polygons, making them all look like Virtua Racing extras. It's a ton of fun, too. I just released a 2012 IndyCar set yesterday, including 26 cars (some of which are in the shot above, you should be able to guess the drivers).
You can get the game at http://www.gene-rally.com/ , my cars at http://forum.generally-racers.com/vi...t=3038&start=0 (you will need to register), and find other tools, tracks, and cars at http://forum.generally-racers.com/viewforum.php?f=1
