Here is a major example. The Long Beach Grand Prix is MOSTLY local sponsors. Toyota (local dealers) and cross bridges have huge Port of Long beach banners. Plus, a convention center FULL of local buisness! I haven't seen that happen with any oval.

My personal opinion is that until we see more drivers on commercials, billboards, and ads, the people wont care about going to some race at the speedway. Drivers need to be marketed, because oh boy do we finally have a heck of a product.
I've been saying the same thing for years, the sponsors NEED to feature their drivers in their advertising, the series NEEDS to get the drivers in the mainstream media. And than we will see ratings and growth.
