Tom, Mike and I will be going to the Kings Royal next Saturday night at Eldora.
This is not just a race it's a happening!
Is anyone else from TF going to be at Eldora next weekend?

Have a very blessed day!
Only if I can clone myself. Night 2 of Indiana Sprint Week at Kokomo, almost due west of you, young man.

Wanna know what's wrong with NASCAR? They've gone from Junior Johnson to Jimmie Johnson.
Wanna know what's wrong with IndyCar? It's gone from dirt ovals to street races.
I wouldn't miss it! This will be my 25th. I will bookend the Kings Royal weekend with the Brad Doty Classic on wednesday and Lawrenceburg Sprintweek on Sunday. Can't wait.
Hope to see you there! I'll be wearing a Kinser shirt with both Steve and Kraig on it. We're sitting in section BB three rows from the top. We'll be in the pits early also.
BTW, this will be my 21st KR. I envy you going to the Doty Classic and and the Knight Before.
I wish I could do that some day.
Maybe one year. I wish I was within 5 hours of that place.
I'll be there in section K. I don't know if I'll make it early enough to go to the pits though. Outside of the usual cast of characters, I've seen that quite a few cars from PA are planning on coming to Eldora.

The weather forecast is not too bad for Saturday. It's calling for highs in the mid 80's with a chance for rain.
For those who have been to a lot of Kings Royals, it seems like it rains almost every year but it has only been rained out once and run the next day.
Tomorrow is the big day for us!
Leaving at 11AM so we can take it all in!
Getting ready to go east to Eldora!
I hope the rain holds for a few more hours and then let it pour!
Yes,,, Yes,,, Tony,,,
Your Grandfather was a friend of Roger Penske,,,
Your Grandfather did business with Roger Penske,,, but
Your Grandfather never trusted Roger Penske,,,
Read on Facebook that Sammy won. More later.
It was another incredible day of racing and fun!
Walking the pits before the night begins is worth the price of admission.
BTW, a pit pass is only $5!
The weather was good and the track held up pretty well considering the drought.
We met people from all over the country and even met a family from Australia.
The only negative of the day was Sammy winning. I have never been a fan of his
and never will be. Too many incidents in his long career as far as I'm concerned.
I was not the only one who rooted against Sammy last night. Most everyone in my
section was saying "anyone but Sammy."
I hope the Good Lord leaves me around to attend this event next year and for a few years to come!
Now I hope we get some much needed rain!
I failed to mention that Steve Kinser had to scuffle to make the A-Main. He changed an
engine moments before the B-Main and finished in the last transfer spot. It was fun
watching him, Kraig and Donny Schatz run to the front. Kraig was running as high as second late
in the race.
Steve has now made all 29 Kings Royals. That's quite an accomplishment!

Should a series be embarrassed when guys in their mid to late 50s are absolutely kicking the behinds of guys that could be their kids? And in some cases are?
Tell me again that Steve and Sammy aren't among the most talented racers we'veever seen.
"For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children's future, and we are all mortal".
John Kennedy at American University 1963
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power"
A. Lincoln
Not only Sammy and Steve, but oldsters like Danny Lasoski and Jack Haudenschild still racing and winning races. All of these are north of their 50th birthday.
I believe that Steve Kinser is one of the most talented racers I've ever seen but Sammy is not called Slammin' Sammy for nothing. Sammy had some rough edges and he still has 'em. He just as soon drive through someone than to pass 'em. that hasn't changed much.
BTW, I saw Steve race when he was still in high school, so I've seen a bunch of 'em. I'm not discouraged about the Outlaws once Steve, Sammy and the others hang it up. There is some really good young talent on the way up.
