Have Bernie and Bruton been sharing the bong?

Maybe this should've been in the F1 forum, but it looked more like biz to me.

"A London Grand Prix would be bigger than the Olympic Games," Ecclestone is quoted as saying.
A London GP would be big.....but would it match:
    -20,000 press/media in attendance
    - 8 million tickets for sale
    - an estimated 500,000 spectators per day

    new sig pending

'In 5 years, I expect to be as big or bigger than F1.'

    'The Future of Racing'
'If China doesn't pan out, it's ok, we have a plan B.'

Really, they've all done it. To Bernie's credit, none of the other racing CEOs can claim the commercial successes he's been able to achieve for F1.

I dunno about the live gate but a London GP through Hyde Park would be HUGE and the TV numbers would be off the charts.

It would put more money in Bernie's pocket than the Olympics will. Perhaps that is what he meant by "be bigger than the Olympics."
Officer Mitchell, I thought you said you didn't want to have to come back here this evening.
