I tend to watch them more in the winter than any other time. Right now the one show that's holding my attention is At Home with Jamie Deen. I think that's what it's called. He's the one Deen I can tolerate. I used to watch Everyday Italian with Giada but rarely do they show anything but repeats so I've gotten out of the habit of watching her. On Saturday afternoons I DVR Lidia's Italy on the local PBS station. It's not always for her food but mostly because she sounds like my family members and I miss hearing the thick Italian accent intermingled with English. I love Extra Virgin with Debi Mazar and her husband Gabriele Corcos. I'm very entertained by how they work together in the kitchen. Lastly, I watch Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman. I like her take on family friendly foods. Nothing froo froo or over the top with her. Just food that I would actually make. I have had her blog on my radar for a few years. She's funny and sarcastic and I like that in a blog/tv show.

I will not watch Sandra Lee in any show. She comes off as fake. I will no longer watch Barefoot Contessa since I read where a Make a Wish kid with cancer wanted his wish to meet Ina and she turned the kid down. Sorry, I will not support anyone who can't take an hour out of their busy schedules to make a dying kid's wish come true.
Oh, the Bitchin' Kitchen woman. I cannot stand her. I'd love to hear what she sounds like off camera. I'm betting it's not like she comes off on camera.

I'll have them on while I'm doing other things on a Saturday morning or late afternoons during the week. I find myself turning to The Cooking Channel more than The Food Network lately. The Food Network is like MTV, a cooking channel that doesn't have many cooking shows anymore. I don't care about cupcake wars.

My favorite is Tyler Florence. He's a hottie and any recipe of his that we make always turns out well. I'll watch Giada but her newer shows are getting on my nerves. I hate hearing her chewing and numb, numb, numbing. I swear you can almost hear the saliva sloshing around in her mouth. Enough!

I really like Extra Virgin too. Did you see the episode where they went to the shooting range because they need to kill the wild boars on their property in Italy? She cracks me up. I like David Rocco too. Everything is so fresh. He can make a batch of Pesto just sitting on a bench on a hillside.

I've seen the Pioneer Woman three times and all three times it's been the exact same episode. I don't know why I can't catch a new one. But I now have fig jam and Prosciutto in my fridge to make her pizza. But now I'll have to wait until fall or buy some Arugula because the heat killed the Arugula in the garden.

I like Anne Burrell and Nigella. I also liked Ina but agree with what Slim said. I was really disappointed in her when she blew off that little boy. She tried to redeem herself but then he blew her off. LOL Some of her recipes are really good though.

I've only seen Bitchen Kitchen once and that was enough. The Neely's are annoying too.

We do DVR America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country on one of the PBS stations.

We use to watch Hell's Kitchen but after seeing the contestants this year we just couldn't handle it. We haven't watched one episode this season.

We really like Master Chef. I think we have about 4 possible winners at this point.

edit: Did you know the bald Italian guy is Lidia's son? She seems so nice and he comes across as such a rude, arrogant b-----d.

Yea the so called "chefs" on Hell's Kitchen this season leave a lot to be desired. I said a bunch of line cooks from Cracker Barrel would kick their azz. Yea, I knew a long time ago Joe was Lydia's son. And I agree, he is one rude dude. Mama needs to talk to that boy.

I've been really enjoying Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. That is the perfect role for Guy. Really makes the locals look good.

Seriously, where do they find the "chefs" that compete on Hell's Kitchen? Its as if none of them have ever stepped foot in a kitchen in their entire lives. Do any of those contestants believe they will actually run a Gordon Ramsey kitchen? I can't believe he'd be willing to let one of those drag his name and reputation through the mud.

Oh yea, they need to update the menu on the show. Its always scallops, risotto, beef wellington, john dory and maybe a couple of other items. Consistently. You'd thing the contestants might have watched some back shows and studied up on how to make those dishes.

Agree with that, and enjoy the show...

Also like Man vs. Food...not so much for the (usually) stupid challenges, but for the other restaurants they feature...

My wife can't stand him, but I like Alton Brown...learned some good tips from him...

Mexico: One Plate At A Time with Rick Bayless on PBS is pretty good as well...I love his backyard...you'd never believe he's in the middle of the city...

Highly recommend Anthony's book Kitchen Confidential. If you have ever worked in the "Biz", you will know everyone he talks about!

I like Top Chef... the rest wish they were Top Chef. Not too crazy `bout shows featuring British dudes screaming at people. I'll watch a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and I'm always game for a new episode of Iron Chef America.

The first few pages of "Medium Raw" are simply priceless. "Kitchen Confidential" is a VERY good read, but maybe not suiteable for everyone.

    Mrs KevMcNJ watches that one.

He was at a Drive-in in Charlotte, NC and it looked so good we went up the next weekend.

The food was as good as it looked on TV

The onion rings alone were worth the ride!

South 21 drive in? I love that place!

The Landmark on Central Ave. in Charlotte is also in my top five of best places ever.

We tried a place in Broad Ripple because of DDD. It was really good too.

We were watching an episode about a week ago and he met a couple that has been traveling around the country trying all the places he has featured on the show. I think they had been at it for about a year and had visited 100 places so far. Guy was impressed. It made me think of Davydd. As much as he and his wife travel around the country he could give that couple some serious competition.

Another one that makes me gag is The Chew. They have some good cooking segments if they (except Mario) would all shut the hell up. They just need a new lineup of people on that show.
